Header: Infinity Drain
Adhesion Linear Drain, designed by Gensler in collaboration with Infinity Drain, is a water drain that was recently voted as the Jury’s Favourite product in the Construction Product Design category for Plumbing, Water Systems and Products at the BLT Built Design Awards.
Developed as part of Infinity Drain’s architectural product line, the product is a joint effort between the manufacturer, which is at the forefront of architectural and decorative drains, and Gensler, the global architecture, design, and planning firm, which served as product design consultants.
The design is based on the behaviour of water droplets interacting with surface materials, which was studied by the Gensler team. The designers studied how water collected and dispersed across various surfaces, using this observation to create a surface pattern composed of distributed, irregular dots.
The pattern covers the linear drain’s cover and is masked to avoid a visible tiling effect when installed, an effect complemented by the fact that all elements are fabricated in materials compatible with the range of offered finishes.
Adhesion is available in both site sizable and fixed-length configurations, coming in multiple lengths and ten finish options. It is compatible with optional factory-applied Schluter-KERDI waterproofing for installations using modern fabric membranes.
