On 24–25 July 2026, Cotonou hosted the first Africa International Design Awards. Nearly 300 submissions from 40 countries, judged by 41 experts of 18 nationalities, culminated in a day of keynotes and Fire Talks at Sèmè One, followed by the inaugural ceremony at the Sofitel Cotonou Marina.
