New Nike training performance footwear system allows seamless transition between lifting, running and dynamic movement. Designed for those into hybrid training and racing, the system consists of two distinct silhouettes: Nike Hybrid Fly and Nike Hybrid RN. Both sneakers are tested by Nike athletes Dylan Scott and Lauren Weeks.

Supporting the new training trends
A new generation of athletes regularly shift between running, lifting and dynamic movement during competitions, which demand a top-notch performance across a wider range of motions and environments. And while the demand for hybrid training and racing continues to grow, traditional footwear struggled to keep up. The typical running shoe would bring speed and responsiveness but would lack the grip and stability offered by the traditional training shoe. Forced to pick between the two, the athlete frequently had to sacrifice one benefit in favour of the other. But Nike’s hybrid system is different.

Nike Hybrid System
Nike Hybrid is there to fulfil these needs for hybrid athletes. Built from the ground up, the system brings speed, efficiency and relentlessness. It delivers two footwear solutions tailor-made to support the full-body demands of hybrid racing. The Nike Hybrid Fly is designed for race days while Nike Hybrid RN covers everyday training. Together they form Nike Hybrid, an innovative system covering different training and competition requirements. Nike’s performance platforms such as Nike Air, ZoomX and ReactX foam and Carbon fibre Flyplate technology ensure outstanding performance whether you do pulls, rows, runs, sledge pushes or any other activity.

The Nike Hybrid Fly: Shoes made for racing
The Nike Hybrid Fly, designed for hybrid racing, combines ZoomX foam, a full-length carbon Flyplate and dual forefoot Air Zoom units to help maintain speed on the run. The innovative cushioning system is accompanied by a wider base for added stability and traction, minimising microadjustments when transitioning into station work. Four-zone traction with sticky rubber and sidewall wraps improves grip and security across surfaces, while a lightweight mesh upper features zoned haptic lines for additional durability and support. The design is completed with race lockdown laces.

“I have always wanted a shoe that ran like the snappy carbon-plated shoes but found a way to put a stable footing and grip out on the race floor as well. I kept finding that I could get two out of three of those aspects but never all three to come together until the Hybrid Fly. It was the shoe I trusted to get the job done, and it did.”
Dylan Scott

The Nike Hybrid RN
The other silhouette from the Nike Hybrid system, Nike Hybrid RN pairs ReactX foam and an Air Zoom forefoot to support responsive training while maintaining stability needed for lifts. The RN also features a wide outsole and X-shaped upper overlays, while a dual rubber outsole provides optimal traction regardless of the surface. Finally, mesh construction keeps athletes comfortable throughout training sessions.

“Hybrid asks a lot more of a shoe than road running does. You’re constantly switching between running and strength movements, so it makes sense to wear something solely designed for both. Having a shoe that can handle those demands lets you focus on your race or training instead of thinking about your footwear.”
Lauren Weeks, Nike world champion hybrid athlete

The Nike Hybrid RN will be the first silhouette to hit the market. The sneaker will debut in the Chinese market on September 24, 2026, while the global release is announced on October 8 at nike.com and select retail locations. The global release of the other sneaker, Nike Hybrid Fly, is scheduled for April 2027.
