In the lush greenery of Ubud, Bali, the Birdhouse Treetop Villas offer a luxurious escape into the heart of nature. But the magic is not only in the stunning surroundings. The lighting design by STUDIO NIMMERSATT under the lead of designer Rina Pradnya Pusthika, elevates the experience, transforming the villas into shelters of light and tranquillity.
Deservingly recognized with a Residential Lighting win at the prestigious LIT Lighting Design Awards, the design uses light to play with perception and enhance the connection with the surrounding environment. The warm light of the facade bathes the rich wood exteriors, highlighting their natural beauty. This warmth is juxtaposed with the deep greens of the jungle canopy, creating an interesting interplay of light and shadow. By strategically placing lighting fixtures, the design team achieved a sense of “ungroundedness,” making the villas appear to float.
The focus on natural beauty continues within the villas. Here, the design team took a minimalist approach, using carefully placed lighting to highlight the warmth of the wood interiors. The intention is clear: to create a welcoming and inviting atmosphere, a space for relaxation enhanced by a gentle, golden glow.
This symphony of lighting design and nature elevates the villas into a true sanctuary, a place where guests can truly unwind and reconnect with the beauty of Bali.
