Balloon Art Meets Porcelain in the Light Touch of Soft Blown

Ever wondered what would happen if the delicate elegance of porcelain collided with the playful charm of street balloon art? Lladró’s Soft Blown collection answers that question with poetic flair, earning its place among the LIT Lighting Design Awards winners in the Decorative Accent Lamps category. Designed by Nichetto Studio and crafted with the expert hands of the Lladró Design Team, Soft Blown is a nostalgic nod to carefree summer days, in the shape of porcelain and light.

The collection features two signature pieces: the Afloat chandelier and the Airbloom table lamp. The Afloat chandelier features a central body adorned with six globe shades of translucent white porcelain, suspended like floating bubbles in a playful yet refined configuration. Meanwhile, the Airbloom table lamp mirrors this lightness, with a white porcelain central lampshade surrounded by delicate modules in three glossy color ranges.

But don’t be fooled by its playful demeanor. The craftsmanship behind Soft Blown is as serious as it gets. Each element is handmade in Lladró’s legendary Valencia workshop, where artisans have perfected porcelain art for over seventy years. The delicate translucency of the porcelain allows the light to glow softly from within, creating a cozy and refined atmosphere.

Lladró’s commitment to the Global Goals for Sustainable Development is shown in the thoughtful integration of LED technology. Not only does it ensure energy efficiency and longevity, but it also reflects a conscious effort to reduce environmental impact without sacrificing design integrity. Using locally sourced raw materials and a fully artisan production process reinforces the brand’s commitment to sustainable luxury.

For Lladró, Soft Blown represents a beautiful tension between tradition and modernity. The brand’s rich heritage in porcelain artistry meets the playful energy of contemporary design — proof that great design doesn’t just light up a room; it sparks a feeling. And in the case of Soft Blown, that feeling is pure joy.
