The frequency of natural disasters has increased fivefold in the last 15 years. Astonishingly, two-thirds of municipalities are expected to experience major natural disasters in the near future. These new challenges require improved solutions, new equipment, and advanced technology. That’s why seven members of Software République partnered with firefighter units and four other technology partners (Peripheral, Parrot, HawAI.tech, and Green Communications) to create vision 4rescue. Vision 4rescue emergency system connects over 20 emergency service technologies for improved interventions in natural disasters.

Vision 4rescue packs 20 lifesaving solutions in one
Vision 4rescue focuses on removing tech barriers between emergency teams with integration of communication, video, audio and other devices. The system includes both long-range drones (made by Thales) and short-range drones (Parrot), both featuring cameras and communication systems. These drones allow for collecting and sharing information about emergency zones. They are managed through a non-proprietary Cyber Secure AI platform (Thales), which analyses multi-source data in real time to detect and evaluate risks. Drone flight paths are optimised through The Flux Vision (Orange) and analysis tools, alongside HawAI.tech animation planning solutions. Orange also created hybrid networks and devices, such as a 5G onboard network and an SOS backpack. Paired with Green Communications’ ultralight WIFI, the technology aims to facilitate communication between emergency teams in situations that lack traditional infrastructure.

Connectivity, responsiveness, communication
Finally, a crisis management solution developed by Atos integrates all this data to organise an emergency response. Short-range drones can facilitate the investigation of the incident. Connected JCDecux furniture has a communication interface that can be used to talk to the affected population. The Renault 4 E-Tech electric vehicle is designed to serve as a mobile command centre. The Renault Group vehicle and long-range drones possess an emergency communication system, which can track people who can help by geo-locating their mobile phones. The live communication between the environment and the vehicle is maintained through A V2X – vehicle to everything – solution (by Orange).
Atos’ tactical communication tool connects data from vehicles, drones, and human teams and enhances it with AI before real-time distribution. The peripheral vision tool by Peripheral transfers information to firefighters on the field. Embedded AI and electronic components by STMicroelectronics use energy-saving technology to ensure the responsiveness of the equipment and security of the data. Dassault Systèmes explores prevention plans and risk scenarios in a collaborative virtual world.

Software République members and achievements
Software République is a European collaborative ecosystem that gathers seven companies: Atos, Orange, Dassault Systèmes, JCDecaux, Thales, STMicroelectronics, and Renault Group. Every year, this collaboration invents a smart and sustainable solution that can improve human wellbeing. In 2022, the group presented Mobilize Powerbox, a secure electric vehicle charging station, during the Paris Motorshow. In 2023, the presentations were permanently moved to Vivatech shows, where the unveiling of the human-centred concept car H1st vision (Human First vision) and the health-centred modular vehicle U1st vision (now marketed as Medigo) took place in 2024. Vision 4rescue was showcased during the VivaTech trade show between June 11 and 14, 2025. The presentation focused on several potential uses, such as floods, forest fires, and urban emergencies.
