Kurtain Line by Luxxbox continues the brand’s award-winning Kurtain acoustic lighting series, known for flowing luminaires made of wool to absorb sound. The combination of the Kurtain series with the powerful and precise Linea lighting fixtures has resulted in a new soft but powerful Kurtain Linea Lighting system.

Made of eco-friendly biodegradable wool, the series provides both outstanding acoustic and advanced illumination. The high-performing acoustic lighting system is a great addition for any space, particularly for open-plan workspaces, collaborative areas, hospitality venues and other large-scale commercial interiors.
Shielding and control options
Under the curtain-like silhouette, the luminaire is equipped with a class-leading dimmable LED system that provides a flexible range of direct, indirect or combined lighting. Kurtain Line comes with several shielding options and a very low Unified Glare Rating (UGR) of less than 5, helping to reduce glare and provide comfortable light. Advanced control options are available upon request, including Bluetooth, Casambi, Tunable White and many more. Designed to redefine linear lighting for mindful spaces, the light sets a benchmark for aesthetically pleasing and acoustically superior design.
A spectrum of colours and lengths
The Kurtain Line lighting series is available in three lengths (1434 mm, 1714 mm and 2274 mm), all featuring the same width of 305 mm and height of 250 mm. The wool shade is available in 77 colours, giving designers plenty of options to create a look that complements a wide range of interior styles. The height can be adjusted with 9′ / 2740mm suspension cables, while black woven cables power the pendant. IES and LDT photometric files allow lighting designers to analyse and plan light distribution in 3D simulations.
Renewable, biodegradable, non-toxic, and energy-efficient
Kurtain Line features organic, compostable shades fully made of Camira Blazer wool. Wool as a material is easily renewable and completely biodegradable. Free of metallic dyestuffs, materials comply with regulations addressing PFAS, Prop 65, and AB 2998 about harmful chemicals and material safety. Kurtain Line is Indoor Advantage™ Gold and EU Ecolabel certified, meeting recognised standards for healthier indoor environments and reduced environmental impact.
Its LEED Credit Contributor status means the lighting pendant can contribute toward earning credits in LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) projects, a widely recognised green building certification system. Kurtain Line is one of the few lighting fixtures that combines a completely compostable shade with exceptional environmental sustainability. The series’ dimmable edge-lit LED comes with a 50,000-hour lifespan, ensuring prolonged use while at the same time reducing energy consumption and waste.
Drawing inspiration from two beloved Luxxbox lighting series, Kurtain Line combines refined aesthetics with environmental consciousness to create comfortable, flexible lighting environments. The design of Kurtain Line has won first prize in the LIT Lighting Design Award, an annual international design competition, as the best Pendant lighting design among numerous submitted entries.
