The NookLight is a lamp specifically made for sofa reading. Intended to solve the problem of sofa lights’ excessive brightness, the lamp provides clear illumination for your reading material while casting a gentle glow to the surrounding space. The lamp contains functions for reading, device viewing and sleep mode.
NookLight’s innovative off-axis lighting
An ideal floor lamp for sofa reading, NookLight features innovative off-axis lighting, which provides bright illumination for the reading area while gently lighting up the surroundings. By illuminating at an angle and delivering wide, even lighting, the lamp prevents glare and screen reflections. Built-in anti-glare louvres ensure a strain-free reading by preventing direct view of the light source.
Inspired by the flexibility of dental lights
The inspiration for the NookLight floor lamp comes from lights used in dental offices. The dental lights’ four-bar linkage system enables added flexibility and precise adjustments for all reading needs. Repositioning is fast and easy thanks to a small handle on the lamp’s head. The down-light provides bright, focused illumination perfect for reading while the up-light emanates a warm ambient glow.
An integrated light sensor adjusts brightness automatically by taking into consideration ambient conditions. The NookLight also possess an automatic on/off function. A millimetre-wave sensor can detect whether someone is seated below to ensure the light is turned off when not needed, resulting in energy preservation and minimising environmental impact. NookLight comes with a remote control that can be used to save your preferred colour temperature, brightness, and up/down light ratio. The saving feature ensures easy one-touch access to the user’s optimal settings.
Mobility and customization
The lamp has hidden wheels for easy movement between spaces, while the semi-transparent lampshade offers many opportunities for customisation. Released in various colours including white and blue, the light boasts a stylish, modern design that can be integrated easily into any interior design project.
KABO & PYDO design studio and BenQ Corporation
Warsaw-based KABO & PYDO design studio was founded by Kasia Kabo and Tomek Pydo in 2012. Together, they created beautiful designs with outstanding ergonomics and market-ready functionality that improve the lives of all living beings. The studio has previously collaborated with BenQ Corporation on the creation of the PianoLight Grand floor lamp and Desk Clamp Ring. Led by the motto “Because it matters“, BenQ Corporation has built a name for itself as a producer of monitors, digital projectors, imaging solutions, LED lighting and complementary solutions.
