Celebrate May 4th With the New LEGO Star Wars UCS Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter

The most anticipated day in the galaxy has arrived, and for LEGO fans, it brings a shiny new reason to clear some shelf space. To mark this year’s May the 4th celebrations, the LEGO Group has pulled the sheet off its latest Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) set: The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter. This 1,809-piece build takes the scrapped-together hot rod from the screens of The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian and turns it into a high-end display piece that looks like it just flew out of a Mos Eisley hangar.

A new look and custom tweaks

While the original Naboo Starfighters were known for their bright yellow paint and smooth finishes, Din Djarin’s version is all about raw metal and custom tweaks. The design team has leaned heavily into this “stripped-back” aesthetic. To get the look right, the set features special silver drum-lacquered pieces. These parts give the hull a metallic glint that regular grey bricks simply cannot match. It captures that handmade, polished feel of the ship’s silver hull as it appeared when Peli Motto first helped Mando put it together.

Engineering the engines and frame

The beauty of this model lies in the bits you aren’t supposed to see on a standard ship. Because this starfighter is a custom job, much of the internal machinery is left out in the open. LEGO designers have used clever building methods to show off the elongated fuselage and the messy, powerful engine parts. You can see the intricate pipework and mechanical guts at the front of the engines, which helps the model feel grounded and realistic. It isn’t just a smooth toy; it’s a complex bit of engineering that stays true to the “wizard” flight machine fans fell in love with.

Figures and display choices

No Mandalorian set would be complete without the pilot and his tiny companion. The box includes a highly detailed Mandalorian minifigure, finished with his signature blaster, alongside a small Grogu figure. The kid fits perfectly into the modified astromech socket, just as he does in the show.

The LEGO Group has also thought about how people actually want to show off their hard work. The included display stand isn’t a static, one-size-fits-all affair. It comes with an information plaque and allows builders to tilt the ship in two different ways. You can set it side-on to admire the long, sleek lines of the tail, or point it forward to make it look like it’s about to jump into hyperspace.
