Canadian architecture firm DS Studio has just finished working on the new flagship boutique for Henri Noël, a third-generation jewellery brand founded by Vivian Warwick. Located in the heart of Naples, Florida, the store doesn’t follow traditional jewellery retail design, instead embracing a richly layered, emotionally resonant design inspired by intimacy, legacy and performance.

A bespoke dream aesthetic
Warwick envisioned a space that would reflect her personal story and the family legacy behind Henri Noël, which meant a store like no other. After brainstorming sessions, prototypes and care, the result is a space that functions as both a retail showroom and the operational headquarters of the brand. There, customers can browse finished pieces while glimpsing the process of creation through carefully placed windows, mirrored panels and peekaboo thresholds.

Steering clear of minimalism
The design leans into maximalism, actively rejecting the cool austerity of minimal retail spaces in favour of warmth, texture and discovery. From the moment guests enter, they are transported into a rich, tactile environment layered with walnut millwork, mosaic flooring, marble surfaces, velvet drapery and softly glowing sculptural lighting. Every surface tells a story, every detail invites exploration.

Entirely custom-made
Cabinetry throughout the space is entirely custom, designed to resemble antique curiosities that open to reveal jewellery in perfectly lit vignettes. Display drawers trigger subtle lighting upon opening, and hidden rooms and mirrored passages invite clients to wander deeper, transforming shopping into a series of theatrical moments.
“Henri Noël’s flagship is a cabinet of curiosities reimagined as a modern boudoir. It’s a space of intimacy and wonder – eclectic and emotionally charged. From the layered materiality to the voyeuristic glimpses into the workshop, we wanted to create something immersive and unforgettable.”
Dina Sarhane, Principal at DS Studio

The “Gem Den”
The boutique culminates in the “Gem Den”, a back-of-house consultation space designed for custom appointments and heirloom refreshes. Here, vibrant colour, expressive patterns and tactile materials create a relaxed, inviting atmosphere that encourages collaboration and storytelling.

As DS Studio’s third jewellery project, the Henri Noël flagship solidifies the firm’s reputation for emotionally intelligent retail design, where performance, materiality and narrative shape spaces that are as meaningful as they are memorable.
