Designed in the UK and manufactured in Switzerland, the Ventete aH-1 helmet is the result of a decade of rigorous testing and development. In the era when people increasingly turn to bikes for transportation, the Ventete aims to tackle one of bike riders’ biggest problems: where to store a protective helmet after wearing it. The design of the Ventete aH-1 proves that helmets don’t have to be bulky to offer ultimate protection to your head.

Air-filled foldable helmet
In its latest development, the company Ventete has made a shift from leather to foam and now air as a tool to answer the needs of modern users for convenience, without sacrificing the safety or design of the helmet.
“It all started with a simple question: ‘Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could have a helmet that could fold down like a piece of origami and fit in your pocket?”
Colin Herperger
The Ventete aH-1 micro-collapsible helmet can be folded like paper for easy storage. The helmet can shrink up to 90% in size for easy storage and transportation, thus allowing riders to easily commute. Every helmet includes a Fumpa x Ventete USB-C rechargeable mini-pump, made by Fumpa Pumps. An integrated Click valve can inflate the helmet within just 30 seconds. The deflating of the helmet is even faster and can be achieved in just a few seconds. A patented helmet pressure indicator system will alert the user when the helmet achieves safe operating pressure.

Certification and testing
The Ventete aH-1 helmet was created by a team of engineers, architects, and other experts in mechanical engineering, materials science, and user experience. The company created a patented pneumatic structural system through inventions in high-frequency fabric welding and textiles. This system results in shock absorption capacity, greater impact absorption, and higher structural compression debt than a regular foam helmet.
The Ventete aH-1 helmet exceeds the safety requirements of the CE/UKCA safety certification (EN1078). Another test conducted independently at Head Lab (Imperial College London) shows that the helmet mitigates linear and rotational impacts better than foam helmets, thanks to custom RHEON™ padding made in the UK, which helps reduce traumatic brain injury in the event of an accident.

Breathability improvements
The Ventete aH-1’s design with 11 connected air chambers allows for maximum breathability by enabling continuous airflows. Filled with air, the helmet sits lightly on the head. The pneumatic structure dissipates the heat into the surrounding environment. According to testing at EMPA (Swiss Federal Lab for Material Science), the cooling performance of the Ventete aH – 1 reaches cooling values of the helmetless head. The helmets are made from 3 layers of bespoke impact-resistant nylon and reinforced with fibreglass ribs for impact absorption.
