Luka Dončić plays basketball at his own specific rhythm. His ability to quickly stop, start, and shift gears always leaves defenders guessing. To match this unique style, Jordan Brand is inviting players to command the floor in confidence with the release of the Luka 5 shoes. This new silhouette is engineered specifically for the slow-step finishes and sudden directional changes that Luka uses to control the game.

Engineered for the shifty guard
The core philosophy behind the Luka 5 is about giving hoopers the ability to change pace at a moment’s notice. The design team focused on creating a shoe that is flexible enough to move naturally with the foot but stable enough to handle the torque of a violent step-back jumper.
Luka describes the collaboration simply.
“Working with Jordan Brand on the Luka 5 was about making something that fits my game and keeps evolving with me,” says Luka. “The full-length Zoom Strobel and ISOband give me that extra pop and control so I can attack from any spot on the floor. Every time I lace them up, I know I’m ready to go.”
The goal is to let players isolate defenders and move around them with defiant confidence, knowing their footwear can handle the stress.

A new engine for speed and pop
The most significant update in this model is the introduction of a full-length Zoom Strobel. This is the first time this specific technology has appeared in Luka’s signature line. The Zoom Strobel provides a responsive platform right under the foot, giving athletes extra “pop” to make moves in all directions.
This propulsion system sits on top of a plush Cushlon 3.0 midsole. The combination creates a setup that absorbs impact when landing but immediately returns energy when the player decides to attack. It is designed to offer 360-degree control, making it a strong match for anyone who relies on mobility to find open space.

Locking it down with ISO Tech
While the Zoom Strobel handles energy return, the upper is all about containment. Jordan introduced a new feature called the ISOband. This component is integrated into the shoe to allow for push-offs from any angle. Whether a player is driving hard to the left or spinning back to the right, the ISOband keeps the foot secure.
This works in tandem with Luka’s signature ISOplate. This structure functions like a supportive tendon under the foot, delivering lateral support and stability. It prevents the foot from sliding over the footbed during quick directional changes. The design maintains a low profile, bringing the foot closer to the court for a claw-like grip. This setup provides the balance required for Luka’s effortless Euro step.

Traction and release details
To help players hit the brakes instantly, the outsole features a full-length herringbone traction pattern made with HART rubber. This ensures that when a player wants to stop, they stop. The shoe also features torsional rigidity at the heel and forefoot to aid propulsion.
The Luka 5 arrives in bold styles, starting with the “Venom” colourway. This version features an eye-catching illusion green paired with hits of black.
The Luka 5 represents a clear evolution in Luka Dončić’s footwear line. By adding the full-length Zoom Strobel and the new ISOband, Jordan Brand has created a tool for the player who relies on deception and footwork rather than raw vertical leaping ability. It offers a locked-in fit with a responsive ride, ensuring that when a player decides to change direction, the shoe is right there with them. The Luka 5 is available from January 8 at Jordan and Nike websites as well as select retailers.
