Wuhan Amix Hotel’s bold and artistic interior design is bringing a fresh approach to urban hospitality. The hotel is located on Pengliuyang West Road in Wuchang, near the historic Yellow Crane Tower, and takes full advantage of its prime setting. As tourism in the area continues to grow, the demand for unique and inviting accommodations has risen. Sihan Space Design, led by Xiaohui Yu, took on the challenge of creating a space that is both stylish and socially engaging.
Artistic inspiration and design concept
The design concept draws inspiration from the vibrant art of Keith Haring and Wuhan’s famous dish, Hot Dry Noodles. This influence is evident in the hotel’s use of abstract curves, which echo the idea of “art in a single line.” The result is a visually dynamic space where artistic elements and functional design come together to create a welcoming atmosphere.
Architectural transformation
Housed in a renovated building, the hotel’s facade has been reimagined with large floor-to-ceiling windows, bringing in natural light and offering guests expansive views of the city. Careful attention to textures, shapes, and colors enhances the ambiance, making every corner of the hotel feel thoughtfully designed.
A multi-layered experience
The hotel is structured around three key themes: art, boutique, and social. The ground floor features a rainforest-themed pocket park and café, an inviting space where guests and passersby can relax, work, or meet up. The second to fourth floors house boutique hotel rooms designed with a modern aesthetic that encourages comfort and creativity. The top levels, the fifth and sixth floors, combine creative office spaces with art galleries, further cementing the hotel’s role as a hub for artistic and cultural exchange.
Innovative social spaces
A standout feature of the hotel is its innovative approach to social spaces. The dining area isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a flexible venue that transforms throughout the day. In the morning, it serves as a breakfast spot, transitions into a café during the day, and becomes a craft brew bar in the evening. The arrangement of walls and furniture guides movement naturally, creating a fluid, engaging environment for guests.
Thanks to its creative vision and distinctive design, Wuhan Amix Hotel has gained industry recognition, winning the prestigious LIV Hospitality Design Award in the Boutique Hotel Interior Design category. This achievement highlights the work of Xiaohui Yu and the Sihan Space Design team, who have successfully crafted a space where art, hospitality, and community come together in the heart of Wuhan.
