Jordan Brand has been working towards becoming a reference in Mexican streetwear culture for a while now, creating designs inspired by the rich Mexican traditions. Recently, the brand took the next step in this journey by releasing the Air Jordan V El Grito, and the Latin American markets have been the brand’s main targets.

The Air Jordan V El Grito uses design elements rooted in traditional Mexican craftsmanship. The white leather upper includes embossed details on the tongue, toe, and heel, reflecting patterns from crafts like talavera pottery. The shoe’s design is completed with red and green lace locks and midsole accents, along with dubraes engraved with “viva“. Inside, the shoe features a Jordan Brand label in green, red, and white, and a burgundy geometric pattern lines the interior.

In addition to the product, Jordan Brand recently opened Nike & Jordan World of Flight Mexico City, the first retail space of its kind in the region. This store, which covers three floors and 22,000 square feet, further supports the brand’s push into the Latin American market.
