Everyone looking to warm up this autumn and winter will be happy to hear that there’s a new heating stove on the market. One of the best-known manufacturers of wood stoves and fireplaces, Stûv America, presented its latest units, the s16-V. The design of the stove is inspired by mid-century aesthetics, flaunting the appeal of open flame noticeable through the large glass panel in front. The fireplace is equipped with a set of adjustable legs, allowing the user to adjust the product to any environment.
The s16 series of wood stoves
This is the fifth fireplace from the company’s acclaimed s16 series, favoured by many fire burning enthusiasts. All the stoves in the series have a large opening, allowing maximum visibility of the fire and heat distribution, and can heat up to 2,100 ft² (86,000 BTU). The units are available as freestanding stoves, with legs or a podium, or with an integrated log storage. Additional storage can be purchased as an accessory. Having the single burn rate automatic control means that there’s no need to use an air damper. Just light the wood stove, sit back and enjoy.
The air necessary for combustion circulated from below through an outside-air intake connector, while the exhaust gases were removed through the flue. To reduce particulate emissions, the items feature air injectors at the top of the combustion chamber, which enable additional gas combustion. The clear view of the flame is provided by the airflow that removes the particles and dust from the glass. Heat is spread through an opening located between the combustion chamber and the appliance’s envelope. Finally, the heat emanates from the stove as warm air rises from the top of the unit, keeping your room nice and warm.
s16-V is available only in North America
The s16-V follows the same smart mechanism typical of all members of the s16 family. Firstly, the model’s doors open with a removable key, so there are no visible handles that would block the view of the flame. Further, the smoke cannot flow into the room due to the mobile smoke-deflecting technology that starts automatically to remove the smoke. This easy-to-use stove doesn’t require adjusting the air controls, which allows users to light the fire and just enjoy the look and feel of a flame.
The s16-V comes in three available sizes, all EPA-certified and in line with present-day environmental standards. The smallest size is 58, while s16-V also comes in sizes of 68 and 78. Available solely in North America, the stove combines a steel exterior with a vermiculite interior for maximum comfort and a luxurious feel. s16-V is available in two colors Stûv Grey and Black
