adidas and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team have unveiled the new collection inspired by the 1955 high-speed car transporter. The new collection is available from Jun 16, 2026, to coincide with the Silverstone paddock for the British Grand Prix.

Blue Wonder Collection for the British Grand Prix

Named Blue Wonder Collection, the new release draws inspiration from the legendary transporter truck built in 1955 to transport the Mercedes racing car to event weekends. The collection also pays homage to the circuit located in the proximity to the company’s headquarters in Brixworth and Brackley. The home race connection is most noticeable on the British Harrington jacket that’s infused with Blue Wonder hues and tartan lining reflecting the interior.

The striking blue shade transporter symbolises heritage merged with collaboration and innovation. The original typography of the vehicle is mirrored in crisp white detailing that simultaneously represents the precision and meticulousness behind the team’s pursuit of excellence.

“We’re going all-in with a full blue team takeover, taking you from the streets to the paddock, marking the first time the Trefoil has appeared in modern motorsport. This is a moment that felt fitting for Silverstone. Celebrating heritage, innovation and teamwork, the Blue Wonder collection reimagines the 1955 high-speed car transporter from the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team archives into a retro apparel and footwear for the whole team.”

The Driver’s Jersey worn by Antonelli and Russell

The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team drivers Kimi Antonelli and George Russell are among the first to wear the new collection, alongside their mechanics, engineers and other team members. The duo will wear the centrepiece of the collection – the driver’s jersey. Coloured in blue with subtle faded pinstripes that nod to the capsule’s heritage, result in a refined contour that’s a perfect fit for a retro paddock aesthetic. Crisp white logo and matching white accents across the shoulders, collar and cuffs accentuate the blue base, providing a sharp aesthetic.

“It takes a whole team to excel on track and together with adidas, we’ve created something that reflects that spirit. The Blue Wonder collection acts as a physical tie between George at his home race, the team, and the tens of thousands of loyal fans and marshals who fill the circuit each July, plus the millions watching at home. This collection celebrates a landmark piece of our history while capturing the innovation and collaboration behind it, from drivers to engineers. We’re excited to see a wave of blue fill the grandstands and paddock at Silverstone, the original F1 race.”

First Trefoil appearance in modern motorsport

Apart from the driver’s jersey, the collection also includes footwear, trousers, jackets and accessories adapted to athletes and fans alike. And just like the 1955 transporter, the collection embodies teamwork, innovation and a shared identity that brings together an entire team from the garage to the stands. A motto embedded into the drivers’ jersey, which proclaims that Every Dream Needs a Team, powerfully portrays the spirit of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. For the first time in motorsport, the iconic adidas trifold is incorporated into every piece, adding a touch of nostalgia to the apparel.
