Showcasing the artistry and talent of Cober, this exhibition reveals how contemporary design can further expand beyond the limits of the norm. By utilizing techniques like casting, carving, and folding, Cober brought out the natural strength and beauty of his materials, giving them renewed significance in the modern artistic field.

The fluidity of lines across the collection is further highlighted by their seamless merging of horizontal and vertical into one. As revealed, this approach stems from his early fascination with shaping surfboards by hand, a craft that blends functionality with aesthetics. Cober’s distinct visual language is enriched with the minimalist richness of clean lines and dynamic forms.

Inspired by his favorite children’s book, this solo exhibition is an invitation into the dreamworld where each object is an “individual wild being” with a “whimsical spirit.” Unique furniture pieces presented at the exhibition are a testament to the craftsmanship and personal touch throughout the thoughtful experiential process, making them unique and recognizable. Here, the childlike wonder meets expressive creativity and creates a space to meet their inner child and reconnect with their hidden wild self.

Lukas Cober established his namesake studio in 2018 after studying product design in Maastricht and Lisbon and completing a pivotal assistantship with his mentor, Valentin Loellmann. Since childhood, he has been driven by an insatiable desire to create, dedicating himself to form and material. His work focuses on generating timeless beauty, guided by authenticity rather than trends. Whether working with wood, fiberglass, resin, or cast metal, Cober continuously pushes the boundaries of each material, with the process of handling and exploring its possibilities always at the core of his approach.
