The collaboration between top industrial designer Karim Rashid and Cini & Nils, named Korum, features an integrated mirror in its centre. The two-in-one solution gets its name from the word “corum”, which means shield. The soft, gentle light which emanates from the fixture is meant to enhance the atmosphere of many spaces, including hotels, residences, and hospitality venues.

Flexible, modular design
Korum can be installed in two ways: mounted on a wall or suspended from the ceiling. The multifunctional qualities of the design make it well-suited for environments that require versatility and exquisite design. Glossy and flip paint finishes enhance the three-dimensionality of the piece, amplifying the interactions between light, form, and reflection, while providing it with a sculptural quality. Its multifunctionality is accompanied by a modular setting that allows for single, double, or numerous combinations in several colours and shades. Light orientation can also be adapted to the requirements of the space. Available in Glossy white, Matte black, and Cool Grey finishes, the mirror features a great attention to detail, while the new glossy version represents a revolution compared to the usual Cini & Nils finishes.

Energy-efficient, sustainable lighting
The designer paid close attention to energy efficiency and sustainability by using durable, easily recyclable materials. The body of the lamp is made from 100% recyclable aluminium, which can provide the product with a second, third, or fourth life as it can be recycled numerous times without losing quality. Korum provides perfect illumination with reduced energy consumption through energy-efficient LED technology (35W / 220–240V / 2,200 lm). The lamp’s lifespan is expanded in comparison with other lighting fixtures, which in turn reduces waste and maintenance costs. The safety and reliability of Korim meet the IP20 touchproof standard and Insulation Class I in electrical safety. CE and UKCA certificates confirm compliance with UK and EU regulations for sustainability. By embodying the qualities of a lamp, a mirror, and a bold statement piece, Korum is a perfect example of the designer’s vision, which aims to harmonise function and aesthetics in everyday life.
