The latest collaboration between rap artist A$AP Rocky and sports brand PUMA is the 2000s iconic running shoe Inhale OG reimagined. Incorporating today’s design trends, think Golden Goose brand new sneakers looking distressed and used—the latest Inhale OG shows the artist not being afraid to experiment and push the boundaries of streetwear fashion.
After becoming the creative director for Puma’s Formula 1 partnership in October 2023, A$AP Rocky has already designed his first Inhale OG sneakers in May this year. However, the upcoming sneaker drop differs from the first one with its unique design. The new Inhale OGs look like they have been used before they hit the shelves.
The design of the upcoming release incorporated distressed fabric and dark spots meant to resemble oil. New bright red “Flacko” branding on the tongue—referring to one of the A$AP Rocky’s names—was not included on the previous sneaker designed by the artist, but might not be the last time we will be seeing it.
It is no secret that Rocky’s partner Rihanna has been a long-time collaborator for PUMA. For almost 10 years she has been working with the brand and releasing their Fenty x PUMA collabs, each garnering the attention and love of the fans of both the signer and the brand. Whether A$AP Rocky’s collaboration will be as successful and fruitful as Rihanna’s ongoing design releases, we will be able to see in just a few days, as the new Inhale OG sneakers will be available at PUMA and select retailers already on September 26.
