Aston Martin marks its entry into ultra-luxury residential living in Asia with the completion of N°001 Minami Aoyama, Tokyo, a bespoke four-storey private residence crafted in partnership with Japan’s premier luxury real estate developer VIBROA Inc., set in Tokyo’s Omotesandō neighbourhood.
The townhouse continues Aston Martin’s series of bespoke residential projects, alongside the iconic Aston Martin Residences in Miami and The Astera, Interiors by Aston Martin on Al Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah. Designed in close collaboration between VIBROA and Aston Martin’s design team, led by Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, these projects bring the brand’s craft, innovation, and dynamic, beautiful design into modern living.
N°001 Minami Aoyama embodies bespoke craft, high-end technology, and a unified design language that reflects Aston Martin’s signature commitment to materials, perfect proportions, and effortless beauty. The same qualities define its luxury sports cars. Spanning three storeys above a spacious basement, the residence covers 724 m² (7,793 ft²). It offers a sanctuary from the city, an expression of space, time, and privacy for those who value urban style paired with exquisite execution.
Facing the street, the house reveals a powerful architectural façade with vertically aligned metal louvers. Throughout the day, light dances across these reflective surfaces, animating the structure and providing a sense of privacy. The chamfered metal fins reveal glimpses of the interior, from rippled mirrored ceilings to specially commissioned planting on the first-floor spa terrace.
“Throughout the design and construction of N°001 Minami Aoyama we have worked closely with VIBROA to celebrate the influence of Tokyo’s culture, history and style. The city has always held an important creative space within our design studio, and Aston Martin’s increased presence in Japan and Asia has provided fertile ground for inspiration and collaboration,” said Marek Reichman.
“For Aston Martin, design is something that goes beyond automotive inspiration. I see fashion, architectural and even culinary references being considered by our team when developing their work,” added Reichman. “From the dramatic sail-like silhouette of Aston Martin Residences in Miami, to the ultra-luxury interiors in Ras Al Khaimah, through to the striking architectural form of N°001 Minami Aoyama you can see the importance of proportion, visual drama, material innovation and craft.”
Toshiyuki Yoshida, CEO of VIBROA, remarked: “VIBROA is delighted to be working with such an iconic ultra-luxury brand as Aston Martin. Their renowned design philosophy and expertise brings a unique dimension not just to this home, but the wider world of real estate in Japan.”
VIBROA, led by Yoshida in Tokyo, offers its clients a comprehensive lifestyle experience — from property maintenance, private banking, and family education support, to curatorial and concierge services. Aston Martin is proud to be part of this new era of holistic, lifestyle-driven living.
“The clean lines, seamless boundaries and far-reaching views allow the residents to connect with and experience this unique location,” said Reichman. “Inside, we’ve catered to the senses, using a holistic combination of elements and materials to create a calm and relaxing space for them to retreat.”
Tailored to its site in Minami Aoyama, the design maximises space by excavating a large basement that takes advantage of the sloping land. This level houses a gym, wine cellar, golf simulator, private spa, and three en-suite bedrooms.
One of the highlights is the automotive gallery, a ground-floor showcase with two coveted off-street parking spaces. Framed as sculptural art, the vehicles sit beneath adaptive lighting and a wave-texture metal ceiling. They can be screened from the street yet viewed from within, thanks to a special glass vision panel linking the gallery to the lounge and meeting room.
Throughout the house, attention to light, views, and materiality defines the experience. As you ascend to the rooftop terrace, materials shift from dark to light, reflecting the journey toward the sky. At the top, a spectacular terrace awaits, featuring entertaining spaces, a kitchen, green roof sections, and stunning sunset views, all with a panoramic view of Tokyo Tower. A dramatic, folded-steel staircase, inspired by origami, is lit by a statement chandelier and links the levels, framing an internal garden.
Every detail was meticulously designed, from architecture to furniture. Fixtures and fittings are of the highest calibre, complemented by a fully integrated Bowers & Wilkins Audio System that echoes Aston Martin’s dedication to sensory perfection.
Aston Martin and VIBROA curated a selection of premium Italian furnishings, including Molteni&C bespoke wardrobes and kitchen cabinetry. The kitchen features black lava stone surfaces, grey oak cabinetry, and accents in nebula steel and pewter. Many furniture pieces were custom-designed under Aston Martin’s direction. On the first floor, spa facilities include a sauna, a spa bath clad in natural Hinoki timber, and a landscaped terrace with an outdoor Onsen pool, creating a serene retreat.
As the first fully bespoke private residence in Asia created by Aston Martin’s design team, N°001 Minami Aoyama also marks a milestone in the brand’s growing presence in Japan and Asia, following the opening of the Aston Martin Ginza showroom at The Peninsula Tokyo in Spring 2024.
