Landscape Forms‘ Every Day Chair is a minimalist yet sophisticated outdoor chair that can take a lot of use while remaining stylish. Launched in 2024, the brand described it as a seating option for outdoor spaces that change “season to season or even day to day”, with an emphasis on being configurable and easy to store.

To ensure the chair could be used at any time, the team from Landscape Forms wanted to design a chair that not only provided comfort for dinners and social gatherings but also added character to the space. For the result, the chair received a SIT Furniture Design Award in the “Outdoor Chair” category.

Utilitarian inspiration
The design takes inspiration from familiar outdoor chairs that have become symbols of outdoor recreation and connecting with nature, specifically vintage camp and sling chairs. Then it shifts that idea into something more suited to public spaces. The designers were able to accomplish this by bending wire paired with metal strapping into sleek curves, making sure to soften all of the edges.

Crafting a chair out of metal
It’s all metal, formed and welded. The steel strapping is used in the seat and back areas, plus it reminds one of stripped fabric sun chairs from days past. As the designers were looking to create a piece that could be used no matter the day, season or event, durability was deemed a must – and what better than treated metal to thrive outdoors?
All the metal is powder-coated in Landscape Forms’ proprietary Pangard II polyester powder coat, which is known to be hard but flexible. This is the perfect material choice for this chair, as it resists rusting, chipping, peeling, fading and weather exposure.
At ground level, tough nylon glides help limit damage to the structure when the chair gets dragged over rough surfaces, acting just like bumpers.

Design details
There are two versions, with arms and without, with each coming in one standard colour, but buyers can mix colours if they want. The powdercoat chart is organised into groups like neutrals and textured finishes (both muted and bright), plus metallic and gloss options, and there are extra colours for an added cost.

About sustainability
The brand is transparent on the sustainability specs of the Every Day Chair, sharing that the bent wire and steel strapping are recyclable, that the Pangard II powdercoat is lead-free, doesn’t contain HAPs, doesn’t create hazardous waste, and has under 1% VOCs, with those small traces becoming inert once the coating is cured.
