VIK Cars Museum is a private vintage automobile museum designed by KM Design. The museum houses the private car collection of the co-owner of one of Ukraine’s largest supermarket chains, who relocated from Dnipro to Lviv. Originally intended to remain in the garage of his private residence, the collection evolved into a full-blown museum.
From vintage Packard to Ferrari Dino
The museum is located on the second floor of a shopping centre on the outskirts of Lviv. The panoramic view of the ring road junction and a nearby European car dealership are two features that align with the museum’s concept. The design started with the construction of an elevator big and strong enough to lift cars to the second floor. As the construction deadline was only two months away, the team had to focus on multiple processes simultaneously.
Finally, in 2025, the museum opened, featuring 38 captivating vintage cars. Century-old models by Packard are juxtaposed with iconic 20th-century luxurious cars (such as Ferrari Dino, Ford Galaxie Skyliner 1958, BMW 503 coupe 1960) and vehicles made in the last three decades. The design places the exhibits into dialogue with each other and the surrounding space, forging a link between eras.

Lighting and furniture
Lighting is one of the main focal points of the design. Each vehicle is illuminated with accent spotlights, while ceiling lighting guides the visitors through the venue. Custom ceiling luminaires made by Vision Lighting mirror the shape of a Mercedes-Benz star without the surrounding circle. The space is divided into zones with relief metal panels, op art prints, partitions and textile curtains in terracotta hues.
The modular sofas in the lounge are upholstered in real leather with stitching that references the classic car’s interior. The centrepiece of the show, a circular rotating platform, features continuous, shadowless overhead lighting. The platform is reserved for the car of the month or new additions.
Minimalist reception
A relief facade behind a minimalist white reception desk mirrors the tyre tracks left on asphalt. A wall installation made of car parts embellishes the volume while vintage arcade machines and a vinyl record player evoke a retro atmosphere. A custom table crafted from illuminated glass blocks can be bought in the museum shop, while the chairs in the venue host car bloggers, frequent visitors to the space.
A rentable event space
An event space in the museum is equipped with a large LED screen. Conceived as a self-sustainable business, the space can be rented for private parties, photo shoots, fashion shows, presentations and meetings of local business clubs.
From exceptional lighting and striking partitions to rotating platforms and comfortable seating, the VIK Museum offers a sophisticated backdrop for experiencing its outstanding collection.
