Farm Table, a coastline dining space by the beach, is an amenity within the Seven Lakes landscape restaurant and hotel complex. Centred around a single-source kitchen, the interior design is based on the principles of locality and sincerity.

The philosophy of “honest taste”
It’s fair to say that the design reflects the menu, which embodies the philosophy of “honest taste”. Focused on local ingredients, including fish from Seven Lakes’ owned lake and seasonal farm products, the menu is uncomplicated, clean, and rooted in the culinary tradition of Ukraine. The atmosphere matches this commitment to locality and simplicity. Airy and tactile, the interior features natural textures which invite comfort and relaxation.

Staying close to nature
Upon entering the lobby, visitors will be greeted by a large sculptural wine display, carved from solid sandstone. A large, heavy monolith provides an abundance of character and texture, inviting tactility. Unlike the substitute materials often used in public interiors, this genuine stone table strengthens the Yod Group’s credo of staying close to nature.

Circular skylight softens the interior
The interior is connected with the exterior through a series of local pine trees planted in oversized tubs. Natural lighting, crucial for growth, is enabled through a circular skylight. The rounded form of the skylight resembles a spaceship, providing a cosmic feel to the otherwise minimalist interior.

Ukrainian red sandstone leads the material palette
Ukrainian red sandstone represents a primary material used for flooring, bar elements, and large communal tables. Locally sourced from the Terebovlia quarry, the stone features a warm, grainy texture and a naturally matte finish. Traditionally used for the production of external elements such as fences and building foundations, sandstone makes a rare interior appearance. The unique beauty of the stone is emphasised through a deep wine tone that complements the light wood accents and muted shades of linen curtains.

Opening toward the landscape
Floor-to-ceiling windows rise in warm weather, linking the Farm Table to the surrounding garden. The guillotine opening system ensures an easy, seamless connection to the environment, further enhanced by the open kitchen. The act of cooking, therefore, becomes a part of the experience.

Culling from the sincerity of Ukrainian cuisine, the YOD Group employs locally sourced materials and geometrical design to create an easygoing, comfortable dining experience. By connecting the dining area with the surrounding landscape, the design of Farm Table blurs the boundary between interior and landscape, adding a subtle cosmic softness through the circular skylight. Farm Table won the LIV Hospitality Design Award in the Interior Design Eco-friendly category.
