The latest BEV (battery-electric vehicle) from Toyota, the 2026 Toyota C-HR SE and XSE, was unveiled in February 2026. It features a wide, athletic, coupe-like profile. Dual motors and standard electronic AWD (All Wheel Drive) ensure a powerful performance fueled by 338 horsepower.

Outstanding charge capacities
Featuring a sleek roofline and modern interior, the C-HR combines style with practicality, offering 25.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the 60/40 split-folding rear seats, expandable to 59.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Integrated 74.7-kWh battery ensures 287 miles on a single charge in the Sport Edition of the car (SE Grade), boasting 18-inch wheels, while the Extreme Sport Edition (XSE) features 20-inch wheels and an EPA-estimated range rating of 273 miles. Every model comes with a NASC (North American Charging System) charge port, ensuring easy access to charging stations.

Clean, high-tech interior
The Toyota C-HR BEV has been built on an e-TNGA platform, which allows flexibility in car design, including the C-HR’s hammerhead front, compact cabin, and angular rear. Measuring 177.9 inches in length, 73.6 inches in width, and 63.8 inches in height, the car has a wheelbase of 108.3 inches.

Clean interior features a slim driver’s display and accessible centre console, with customizable ambient lighting, completing an elegant and functional high-tech cabin. Two wireless smartphone chargers and USB ports in the rear ensure extra connectivity while on the move, while rear cabin air conditioning controls and an optional panoramic roof provide comfort and light.

Powerful performance
Electric motors housed in the front and rear eAxles with 338 horsepower and 198/125-lb.ft. of torque on the front/rear electric motors, enabling from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.9 seconds. A lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 74.7 kWh is complemented with an 11-kW on-board AC charger. Level 3 DC fast-charging on a NACS port can reach from 10% capacity to 80% in less than 30 minutes. The car also supports Level 1 and Level 2 AC power sources.

Music is supported by six-speker audio system, a JBL Premium Audio system with 9 speakers, including an 8-channel 800-watt amplifier and 9-inch subwoofer, available on the XSE model. Dual Bluetooth phone connectivity supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Wi-Fi Connect trial offers 4G connectivity for up to five devices and Integrated streamimg feature, providing the ability to link separate Apple Music® and Amazon Music subscriptions to the vehicle for onboard control.

Additional features include HD Radio, USB data, and a SiriusXM three-month trial subscription. Remote Connect can be used to activate the buzzer, headlights, horn, and rear hatch. Remote climate features include remote activation of seat heaters/ventilators, defrost steering wheel heater, and a timer, as well as enhanced controls of the charging abilities.

Safety first
Improved safety features include five year subscription for Safety Connect and Service Connect. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 includes:
- Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA): which proves audible/visual warning for inadvertent departure and gentle corrective steering for lane keeping distance with Steering Assist.
- Road Sign Assist (RSA): recognises road signs with a camera and provides data via the Multi-information Display
- Automatic High Beams (AHB): detects headlights and taillights of other vehicles and toggles between high and low beams
- Proactive Driving Assist (PDA): uses camera and radar support to ensure distance control between vehicles and gentle braking into curves.
- Lane Tracing Assist (LTA): keeps the vehicle in the centre of the lane
- Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD): aimed at protecting other traffic participants by providing automatic emergency braking and an audible/visual collision warning.
- Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DCRR), which sets the speeds above 20 mph and helps maintain distance from the vehicle ahead of you.
- Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert: uses rear radar sensors to confirm safety while changing lanes and checking areas that aren’t easily visible. Safe Exit Alert detects vehicles coming from behind to avoid collision with passengers or open doors.
The Toyota C-HR is also equipped with Toyota’s Star Safety System, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), and Smart Stop Technology® (SST). Driver assistance features include Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, and Front Cross-Traffic Alert.


Two models
Toyota C-HR comes in two models: Sport Edition (SE) and Extreme Sport Edition (XSE). Apart from the previously mentioned difference in wheel dimensions, the models feature several particularities. For instance, SE features Fabric/Softex trimmed seating with an 8-way power driver seat and a 6-way manual passenger seat, while XSE features SofTex and synthetic suede-trimmed seats, and an 8-way power passenger seat with driver memory seat. XSE also features traffic jam assist, lane change assist, and panoramic view monitor, while SE features Front & Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking and Blind Spot Monitor.
