Mamuli Restaurant in the centre of Krasnodar is conceived as a unique dining experience that combines a modern audience and Gorgias’ abundant tradition. SOIA Design reflects a balance between past and present, while creating a cosy, refined atmosphere.

Georgian tradition meets contemporary design
The clients from Gosti Group have approached SOIA, requesting a design that would balance traditional elements of Georgian culture with cutting-edge contemporary visual language. The client decided to avoid standard solutions (seen too many times in the hospitality industry) and focus on creating a unique space that will provide an unparalleled experience.

Traditional elements, including materials and textures, are accompanied by custom-made shelving, furniture and striking chandeliers. The SOIA design employs contemporary techniques and new technologies to ensure the space is highly functional and can adjust to a variety of events, including tastings, dining, and concerts. SOIA Design reflects a balance between past and present while creating a cosy, refined atmosphere.

Stand out elements of the design
The design centres around warmth, tactility and symbolism. Warm tones in the finishing material provide comfort and an inviting feel, while decorative finishes such as gold-plastered walls bring a touch of luxury to the space. Massive beehive-shaped chandeliers draw inspiration from Georgian traditional architecture, while balusters made to resemble black pepper cones highlight the country’s love for spices. Every chandelier in the venue is a unique work of art that adds character to the space.

Bespoke bar counter and shelving present exquisite craftsmanship, while the unique zigzag-patterned wooden column cladding adds texture and movement to the interior. Other standout features include a fireplace built into a table and an aquarium. Alongside dining tables made of tree trunk slices, these elements contribute to the organic aesthetic of the Mamuli restaurant.

Layout and furniture
The flexible seating arrangement offers comfort for a variety of needs, including private dining to larger gatherings. The authentic design expands to the restrooms, aligned with the overall interior concept. A dedicated tasting room for wine and traditional cuisine lovers immerses guests in rich aromas. A musician stage allows the restaurant to host cultural events, while a children’s playroom makes the venue an ideal destination for families.

Mamuli is more than just a restaurant. It is designed as a cultural dialogue between the past and the present, a contemporary interpretation of Georgian tradition, where every texture, light, and shape plays its role in a cohesive sensory journey. The distinctive visual language of Mamuli restaurant by SOIA Design has won a LIV Hospitality Design Award in the Interior Design Restaurant – Fine Dining category. The annual international award celebrates the quality and diversity of architectural and interior design projects in the hospitality industry.
