Porsche decided to do something special for the upcoming Lunar New Year. In partnership with Singaporean artist Priscilla Tey, the company celebrated the New Year and the ongoing Singapore Art Week 2026 with a painting of the Jewel retail store at Jewel Changi Airport. According to the Chinese calendar, the Lunar New Year starts on February 17th for 2026, while Singapore Art Week 2026 opened on January 22nd and will last until the end of the month. The art piece entitled Spirit of Legends is inspired by a horse.

The Year of the Fire Horse
Considering that the upcoming Lunar New Year will be the Year of the Fire Horse, it’s not surprising that the mural’s main motif is horses. The horses are painted in racing mode, thus symbolising the racing capabilities of Porsche cars. The influence of the Porsche crest, the iconic black horse emblem on every Porsche sports car, lies alongside subtle visual nods to the company’s rich history. Tey’s art piece represents strength, flexibility, and momentum depicted in an abstract, expressive painting technique.
The artist’s whimsical visual language is on full display in an artwork that also honours Porsche’s 75th year in Motorsport and 75 years since it won the historic 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1951. According to Yannick Ott, Director Marketing Porsche Asia Pacific, the horses not only reflect “graceful performance and agility of our sports cars”, but also represent a tribute to Porsche’s home, Stuttgart, which got its name from a small ducal stud farm.

Porche 956 at the Jewel store
Apart from the mural, Porsche showcased one of its iconic cars at the Culture Garage within Porsche at Jewel. The car, which achieved a whopping four victories at the 1982, 1983, 1984, and 1985 24 Hours of Le Mans and set a 35-year-lasting record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, has inspired the artwork’s colour palette. Rendered in blue, white, red, and gold hues, Spirit of Legends pays a vibrant homage to one of the most successful racing cars in the history of the sport.
The art piece is one of many collaborations between the renowned automobile manufacturer and globally celebrated artists. Previously, the brand collaborated with artists Red Hong Yi, Marc Fornes, Chris Labrooy, and Cyril Lancelin, to name a few.

Artist merchandise
Visitors of the Porsche store at Jewel will have the opportunity to purchase merchandise inspired by the collaboration. A set of limited-edition red packets by the Singaporean artist will be available for sale or as a complimentary gift at the store. Traditionally, red packets are filled with cash and given as presents during celebrations in China. Apart from the packets, customers can also get their hands on Priscilla Tey-designed keychains, thermos flasks, and T-shirts.
Spirit of Legends will be on view till March 31st, 2026. Located at the Porsche store at the Jewel Airport, which opened in August 2025, the large-scale artwork is on display alongside the legendary Porsche 956, also available for public viewing.
