A collectable design collection by Istanbul-based designer Sami Savatlı comprises a chair, shaped in the form of a heart and a matching side table. Titled Love, the collection is made of hand-finished cast aluminium. Love collection is presented by ARKOBJECT, a design and art gallery located in Maçka, Istanbul.

Somewhere between a furniture piece and a sculpture, the Love collection explores how functional objects can surpass their practical use and transcend into the realm of sculptural objets d’art. Both the side table and chair are cast in aluminium and individually finished by hand. As a result, every piece features slight variations in surface and texture, making every chair and table a one-of-a-kind collectable object. The variations derived from the production process are preserved rather than hidden, giving the chairs a unique visual expression.

The aluminium forms are fluid, spanning from legs to the seating area and (in the case of the Love chair) backrest in an uninterrupted form. The lines span, branch and reconnect to create a structural language that reinterprets the familiar forms of a table and a chair.
Love Chair
The Love Chair’s central feature is its heart-shaped backrest, which emerges from the structure of the chair, rather than being added as decoration. The asymmetrical backrest shifts between line and volume, turning the familiar heart symbol into a fundamental part of the chair’s structure.
The Love Side Table
The second part of the collection, the Love Side Table, uses the same visual language translated to a different scale. Made of the same material with the same fluid, continuous lines, the designer established a clear connection between the chair and side table through both materiality and form.
Sami Savatli Love Collection presented by ARKOBJECT
Designer Sami Savatli works across interior design, furniture design and collectable objects. Known for blurring the line between art and furniture, his work explores form, material, and spatial experience. In 2010, he founded Savatli Architects, a design studio committed to creating sophisticated and timeless interiors that balance emotion, functionality and artistry. ARKOBJECT, a gallery known for displaying objects with strong artistic concepts, unique material qualities, and sculptural expression, exhibits his work in Istanbul.
LOVE collection is designed to engage in a dialogue with both the person who uses it and the architecture of the surrounding space. The chair and accompanying side table maintain the practicality of furniture while at the same time establishing an autonomous presence.
