The homeowner, a long-time collaborator with Studio P, yearned for a space to escape, a quiet haven where they could lose themselves in reading and writing. “They weren’t afraid to go bold,” recalls Priya Mitrovic, Principal Designer at Studio P Interiors.
“This room was always a question mark for them. When I stumbled across this striking black-and-white porcelain tile early in the design process, I knew it would set the tone for the space.”
This bold tile choice became the design’s cornerstone, inspiring a palette of deep, rich hues that now envelop the room in a cocoon of sophistication. From there, the vision for the study fell into place, balancing dramatic aesthetics with functionality and comfort.
Design details that elevate
Walls painted in moody tones wrap visitors in warmth and invite introspection. A custom-built window seat maximizes natural light while creating a cozy nook for quiet reflection or indulging in a favorite book. Floor-to-ceiling shelving adds architectural depth and provides abundant storage for an enviable book collection. Each detail has been carefully curated to foster an environment of inspiration and calm.
At the heart of the room is a caramel leather bench that stretches across the window wall, inviting moments of stillness while overlooking lush greenery. This harmonious connection to nature reinforces the room’s serene atmosphere and underscores the transformative power of thoughtful design.

“We wanted to create a room where you could feel the weight of the world lift as soon as you walked in,” says Mitrovic.
“It’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about how a home nurtures you and allows you to find moments of peace within a busy household. For these clients, it was about carving out a place where they could work, read, or simply lounge.”
