Fabio Trabocchi’s Fiolina Restaurant is Preserving the Craft of Handmade Pasta in Florida

Dining at this Italian restaurant is a gastronomical experience like no other. Located in Boca Raton, Florida, Fiolina Ristorante offers signature pasta by its Chef Fabio Trabocchi, who in turn was inspired by Italian female pasta makers and their art of making pasta by hand.

Needless to say, Italians are proud of their cuisine and take it seriously; Fiolina is an example of an affectionate celebration of the art of handmade pasta and an ode to the Italian way of living. Here, you can witness the process of making pasta by hand in the dedicated pasta room daily.

The menu showcases a blend of traditional Italian cuisine with Italian American cooking—a nod to Trabocchi spending more than 25 years in the US. In addition to the freshly-made pasta, the ingredients are locally sourced, including the seafood from the local fishermen.

Besides the flavorful dishes, the restaurant is an eye candy thanks to its bright and colorful interior. Inspired by Italian fashion and art, Fiolina is a mix of lively patterns, flirty Fiorucci prints, and bold red Murano glass lighting.

For the design that emphasizes the restaurant’s culinary artistry, the EDG Interior Architecture + Design team won in the Interior Design North America category at the LIV Hospitality and Design Awards.

The design of this 7,000-square-foot restaurant invites guests to be a part of the culinary program. Besides the aforementioned pasta room, there are layered views of the wine room and the show kitchen with counter seating—creating a unique dining experience for Fiolina’s guests.

The seating area with the red neon sign “Eat Pasta Make Love” complemented by the green decorative wall adds playfulness to the interior. While pressed tin ceilings, mid-century-inspired furnishings, and curated objects complement the multifaceted decor.

The fabulous indoor and outdoor bar with its operable window wall and curated display features high-class spirit drinks, artisan cocktails, and a rich Italian wine selection, which is a perfect addition to the restaurant’s carefully crafted menu. Apart from incredibly delicious pasta, Fiolina’s menu offers seasonal salads, appetizers, main courses with meat and seafood, as well as Italian desserts.
