In recent years Dubai has become one of the most popular destinations for travelers from all over the world ready to experience the Middle Eastern wonder city that was turned from a desert land into a metropolitan city with the world’s tallest skyscrapers. Rightfully so, as the city has a lot to offer in spheres of hospitality and culinary, making it an ideal place for a vacation. Today we are highlighting two restaurants in Dubai for you to add to your itinerary for the next visit.
Masti Dubai
A celebration of modern Indian cuisine, Masti is a Michelin Guide-listed restaurant ideal for a celebration or any other special occasion. It offers rich flavors of Indian-inspired recipes with the influence of the modern palate. What started as Masti Cocktails & Cuisine in La Mer, Dubai was turned into a fine dining destination at The Dubai Edition Hotel.
Besides the wide range of gastronomical choices, Masti offers spectacular interior design for which it became a winner in the Interior Design Restaurant – Theme category at the LIV Hospitality Design Awards.
Handcrafted stain glass creates the Oriental motif, further accentuated by green quartzite. The bright colors prevail in the restaurant’s interior, with touches of wood emphasizing the intricate verdure design.
The bar area is decorated with the stained-glass elephant adding form and dimension to it. The exaggeration in the interior is mixed with polished furniture, together creating a luxurious dining experience for Masti’s guests and diners.
Masti, which translates to ‘fun and mischief’, is a space where tradition meets innovation, and the old is reintegrated into the new, creating an ambiance full of delight and charm.
Plain
If you are looking for something less extravagant and more minimalistic, Plain is just the place for you to visit. Don’t let its name fool you, this restaurant is anything but plain. The decor is well thought out, with each element and detail interflowing into one aesthetic.
Located in Dubai’s Jumeirah district, Plain offers main dishes, as well as desserts, breakfasts, and even appetizing drinks for its visitors. The nude color palette of the place seamlessly blends with wood furniture and plants as part of the restaurant’s decor. Wide floor-to-ceiling windows invite in the daylight—which Dubai has a lot to offer—making Plain seem brighter.
Its serene ambiance fuses with the meticulously curated design elements, making Plain a place of tranquillity. Designed by interior designers Leali Ezzat & Fayez Fares, as an example of minimalist design philosophy Plain was awarded a Prize of Honorable Mention in Architecture by the LIV Design Hospitality Awards.
ELE Interior was able to turn what was originally a villa into an elegant, yet simple design, making it appealing for people on the lookout for the latest “Instagramable” locations.
Among the materials used in this project is microcement encompassing the internal and external floors, ceilings, and walls. The material uniformity enhances the harmonious minimalism, creating a seamless visual flow. Plain is an ideal destination for those who prefer to unwind and relax in quiet luxury spaces and for whom less is more.
