The skyline of Dubai has a new peak. In November, Ciel Dubai Marina officially opened its doors, taking the title of the world’s tallest hotel. Standing at a staggering 377 meters, this ambitious project by developer The First Group is the latest addition to IHG’s Vignette Collection. Rising 82 floors above the city, the building is not just a feat of engineering but a new focal point for design lovers visiting the UAE.

Architecture and interior atmosphere

The structure acts as a meeting point for opposing ideas. The design pairs the aesthetic of the East with the West and balances the busy energy of the city with the calm of the sea. While the sheer scale of the building is massive, the interiors focus on intimacy. The spaces use flowing lines and natural textures to create a rhythm that feels alive.

Instead of overwhelming the senses, the interior palette relies on serene tones to keep guests grounded. The result is an atmosphere that feels luxurious but real, connecting visitors to the destination through a strong sense of place. Every detail, from the lobby to the rooms, serves a purpose, balancing drama with depth to create a story that unfolds as you move through the building.

Vertical dining and the sky pool

The hotel takes full advantage of its height to offer unique culinary experiences. The highlight is Tattu, a UK-born Asian restaurant that spans multiple levels starting on the 74th floor. Here, the design reflects ancient mythology mixed with modern styles.

Just above, on level 76, sits the Tattu Sky Pool. This is now one of the highest infinity pools on the planet. The deck features plush daybeds and offers a space that shifts from daytime relaxation to a high-energy atmosphere with DJ sets at sunset. The journey ends at level 81 with the Sky Lounge & Terrace, providing 360-degree views of the Dubai skyline.

Lower in the tower, other venues offer distinct visual and culinary flavours. West 13 focuses on the Mediterranean, serving dishes from Italy, Greece, Spain, and France. East 14 offers a buffet-style tour of Asia with live cooking stations for ramen and pho. On the ground level, Risen Café and Artisanal Bakery provides a local touch with pastries and coffee in a relaxed setting.

Wellness and amenities

The design extends beyond just looks to include how guests feel. Starting in February 2026, a spa on Level 61 will offer beauty rituals that combine modern techniques with old traditions. For fitness, a 24-hour gym provides workout spaces with inspiring views of the city. Guests also have access to Soluna Beach Club on Palm Jumeirah for a change of scenery by the water.

The hotel also caters to families and business travellers with specific zones. Families can use the Splash Pad and Kids Club, while business guests have access to Nest on Level 16. This area offers stylish meeting spaces equipped with modern technology.

Community and culture

Ciel Dubai Marina also focuses on local culture through specific rituals. The Morning Hydration Ritual offers guests special blended waters at the pool and gym to encourage wellness. The hotel also partners with the International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA) to train the next generation of chefs, ensuring the property contributes to the local hospitality industry.

Other than being a record-breaking structure, Ciel Dubai Marina is a vertical city designed for discovery, offering a fresh perspective on Dubai. As part of the growing Vignette Collection, this hotel proves that luxury travel is about unique character and an authentic connection to the location. Whether you are swimming on the 76th floor or enjoying a quiet coffee in the lobby, the design ensures every moment is memorable.
