Sculptural Stainless-Steel Sofa That Quietly Transforms Interiors

Flow Sofa by Yoojin Lee easily integrates with its surroundings while simultaneously making a bold statement. The unusual shape of the sofa, which uses soft curves at the bottom to balance the straight lines in the middle and at the top, results in a piece with an uncanny, sculptural quality. Flat surfaces paired with gentle curves provide a sense of tactility, and a monochromatic silver colour palette adds a touch of elegance to any space. With added cushions in neutral tones, the sofa makes up for a comfortable but not overbearing resting place. Crafted from steel yet hollow within, it achieves a lightweight feel that blends easily into diverse interiors. Many of the sofa’s multipurpose functions are subtly concealed beneath its seamless exterior.

Stainless steel sofa

Multifunctional, multipurpose design

Apart from its primary function, the piece expands to include a small side table for coffee, tea, a lamp, books, or anything else you might need, while the hollow space on the left side of its base provides just enough room for storage. By combining storage, seating, and supporting table functions, this all-in-one solution is a perfect choice for smaller living spaces, which are quite common in the designer’s home country of South Korea. Drifting between a sculpture and a furniture piece, the sofa provides everything one might need for a laid-back, cosy afternoon. The piece can accommodate house pets who will love it as well. The mirror-like reflective stainless steel has a strong, polished appearance, paired with a brushed metal finish that adds a modern note to the design. By combining both functionality with artistic aspirations, the sofa transforms the living room into an art gallery, a space in which design and purpose can coexist in harmony.
