Award-winning Daun Curry Studio and Room & Board for Business recently worked together to update Curry’s office on Great Jones Street in New York City. The project, marking the studio’s 15th anniversary, aimed to create an inspiring workspace that sets a fresh example for modern office design, featuring Room & Board’s distinct furniture.
A meeting of design minds
The decision for Daun Curry to partner with Room & Board for Business came naturally, as both share similar ideas about design. Curry noted that Room & Board puts the same care and attention into their products as her studio puts into designing interiors. She particularly appreciated their focus on sustainability, making sure their work benefits people and the environment. The furniture selected for the office reflects this, being made in the United States from materials sourced with sustainability in mind.
Inside the redesigned creative space
Located in the creative NoHo neighborhood, the renovated studio needed more than just a simple update. What began as a functional refresh turned into a complete overhaul to support the studio’s growth. The goal was to create an atmosphere that sparks creativity. The new layout now includes several key areas: a dedicated workshop for materials (atelier), bigger workspaces to encourage teamwork, and specific zones for hosting events and giving presentations. The overall look is classic and stylish, using Room & Board for Business furniture that feels sophisticated yet comfortable. This gives the office a welcoming, home-like appearance while still being durable enough for commercial use. It’s designed to be a place for inspiration and connection within the local artistic community.

Daun Curry found the collaboration straightforward and positive. She mentioned that Room & Board’s assistance throughout the project was very helpful. Their “white-glove delivery and installation service” was particularly highlighted as making a significant difference in simplifying the renovation process.
