In 2016, he was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement award for excellence in the field of architecture, a testament to his enduring impact on the South African professional services industry. His pursuit of continuous learning was exemplified by his completion of Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation and Leadership in 2019, demonstrating his commitment to honing his skills and staying abreast of global trends.

He was actively involved in various professional memberships and affiliations, serving on advisory boards, and editorial committees, and as a board director of institutions such as The Apartheid Museum. His leadership roles, including his tenure as the former President of the South African Council for the Architectural Profession, reflected his dedication to advancing the profession and advocating for architectural excellence.

Housed in a 300-year-old Cape Dutch building, the Gold of Africa Museum showcases a stunning collection of precious gold artifacts from across the continent. The contemporary exhibitions, respecting the historic structure, sparkle under delicate suspended lighting, casting vibrant shadows on the old brick walls and timber floors. Completing the experience are a restaurant and a glassed jeweler workshop within the complex.
