US company Future Motion, best known for its Onewheel skateboard, has introduced a new vehicle for both kids and adults. This time coming in two wheels, the vehicle named Antic represents a reimagined 1970s mini bike, but with recognisable Onewheel technology.

The spirit of the 70s, the technology of 2025
In the 1970s, minibikes were everywhere, but their internal combustion engine (ICE) was loud and difficult to start. Future Motion company took the soul of the minibike and the technology of Onewheel and introduced minibikes into the electric age. That’s how an Antic bike was born – representing a mix between practical and extreme electric bikes. The bike is slightly bigger than a regular minibike to make it more accessible to taller individuals, but is still small enough to fit in the back of a truck.

Riding on one or two wheels
By blending retro design with futuristic performance, the company has created fun two-wheelers that embody the joy of riding around the neighbourhood. The bike uses Onewheel hub motors, tyres and batteries to deliver intuitive handling, a wide range, and torque-rich acceleration (strong pulling power at low rpm rotations per minute). Innovative self-balancing Onewheel Mode allows users to ride solely on assisted wheelies. Put the front wheel up, and the back wheel will lock in, allowing for easy balancing on one wheel. The bumps are smoothed with a hydraulic front. Single lever front and rear regenerative brakes ensure confident stopping. A twist throttle allows users to easily adjust the speed by pulling the grip closer or farther away from them.

Basic and Long Range models
The bike comes in three models, which all feature iOS and Android apps that customise the experience. The Antic bike base model comes with a range of 12 to 28 miles and a special launch price of $2,100. The Long Range model, priced at $2,700, can reach between 24 and 50 miles per hour, which is also the range featured by the most expensive model of the lot, Long Range+. Priced at $2,900, Long Range+ offers the upgraded Performance Treaded tyres for improved handling. They all feature 75v electric powertrain, hypercorrect in-hub motor, 140mm hydraulic disk brake and all are made of aluminium which makes them light and doesn’t rust. The shipment will start in January.

Future Motion: the inventor of Onewheeler and more
Future Motion Inc. is a California-based company which aims to reinterpret the way we think about personal digital vehicles and micromobility. Established in 2013, the company holds over 110 patents. Its most popular product, Onewheel, is a single-wheel electric board, which maintains balance through a series of sensors and gyroscopes.
“We want to build machines that make you feel like a kid again”, claims Kyle Doerksen, Founder & CEO of Future Motion, while emphasising that everything about the bike has been made in-house in Future Motion’s R&D lab. Future Motion is the biggest manufacturer of light electric vehicles in the US, and just like all others, their new Antic Bikes are designed and assembled in the country.
