Design by Johany Sapet

The new LOULOU store now spans over 60 sqm. (646 sq.ft.) occupying a two-level space on the premises of a historic five-storey building. The interior was designed by architect and interior designer Johany Sapet, known for projects such as Prairial, Le Troquet, and the Sibilia charcuterie. Recognised for his ability to transform and expand spatial perception, Sapet has crafted a unique retail environment that maximises the boutique’s layout while enhancing the customer experience.

Pink and dark colour palette

The interior combines pink concrete, dark wood, and brushed metal to create a resolutely contemporary space with a subtle industrial edge. The latest eyewear designs are presented on grid-like shelving integrated into the raw concrete walls. Sapet’s talent for discreet functionality is evident in the cleverly concealed storage spaces, seamlessly integrated into a large wooden reception unit.

Intimate fittings and consultation space

Comfortable, cosy furniture softens the raw architectural elements, creating a welcoming atmosphere. On the upper level, a lounge-like waiting area allows visitors not only to discover rare and limited-edition eyewear, but also to have their eyesight tested on site and find the perfect fit. While the ground floor functions as an open and inviting showroom, the upper level takes on a more intimate, boudoir-like character. Rendered in darker tones with carefully positioned lighting, the space provides a private setting for fittings and consultations, reinforcing LOULOU’s commitment to personalised service.

LOULOU curated eyewear

LOULOU offers a selection of rare, often exclusive and forward-thinking eyewear collections. Known for the exceptional quality of its curation, the boutique places strong emphasis on artistry, design, and details. Unlike the traditional optician’s experience, LOULOU invites customers to discover eyewear more intimately and thoughtfully. The company’s approach includes a slow understanding of frames as the conversation unfolds. At the same time, LOULOU remains an independent boutique deeply committed to supporting local trade and craftsmanship.
