Giacosa 35 is a new 400-square-metre space in Milan set to open to the public this spring that was specifically designed to host exhibitions, installations, and events across design’s many disciplines. The space was conceived as a flexible platform for design, art, fashion, and culture, focusing on collaboration and experimental programming. Founded in 2024, the venue is located in the northern part of the city and operates by appointment only.

The layout is open and modular, allowing for multiple configurations depending on the nature of each event. Lighting, partitions, and display elements are adjustable, supporting both large installations and smaller presentations. Intended to shift easily between uses—exhibition, discussion, launch, or performance—without a fixed setup, the circulation paths were left deliberately open to accommodate every visitor flow and staging need.

Giacosa 35’s objective is to host an ongoing programme of temporary exhibitions, with no permanent display in place, hoping to create space for all types of designers. To set the stage, its launch event, “Objects and Stories,” will introduce the space and its direction through a curated gathering of professionals, local residents, and guests from the wider design and creative community.

The gallery’s exhibitions must centre on cross-disciplinary dialogue, with the goal of creating international networks. The space hopes to connect local and global voices by offering a platform for artists, designers, and practitioners based in Milan and hosting contributions from international collaborators.

Partnerships are an integral part of the Giacosa 35 structure, with current collaborators including Secolo, Movimento Gallery, Lualdi, Abimis, and Dresswall. Each is involved in programming and contributing to the space’s material and conceptual framework. These partnerships are curated around shared interests in contemporary design practice and future-oriented development.
