The James Desk, designed by Lauren Rottet for Rottet Collection, is conceived as a perfect piece for any home office. Made of warm wood and natural leather with accented dark bronze metal banding, the desk becomes an elegant focal point that seamlessly balances refined craftsmanship with everyday functionality. Although primarily made for a home office, the James Desk fit seamlessly into a corporate office setting as well.

Storage and hidden departments

A set of natural wood storage drawers allows for easy storage at the tip of your fingertips, while a leather-wrapped saddle pocket is designed to hang over the edge to keep the work surface completely clear. Additional leather-wrapped storage compartments are hidden within a long writing surface. The James desk is mostly constructed from warm wood that provides a comfortable and professional look to the piece.

Rottet Collection

Lauren Rottet, the founder of Rottet Collection, is renowned for her holistic approach to design, where function, materiality, construction, and product development are considered long before form takes shape. Throughout her career, she has found inspiration both in the natural world, such as the stone quarries of Vermont and Texas, and in the Light and Space art movement.

Characterised by minimalist forms and geometric abstraction, Rottet’s kinetic designs investigate the interplay of light, reflection, volume, and scale, making exceptional furniture from glass, metal, resin, and acrylic. Her style can be described as Contemporary Luxury, built to last and to be passed on from one generation to the next.

The elegant, sophisticated design of the James Desk has won the SIT Furniture Design Award as the best Home Office furniture Design among numerous submissions. Every year, the SIT Furniture Awards celebrate furniture that breaks new barriers in furniture design across eight categories and over eighty subcategories.
