Rimadesio’s latest collection from designer Giuseppe Bavuso was created to give interior design projects a complete and consistent look. This new line, which includes chairs, tables, and armchairs, follows the Rimadesio idea of modern design: high quality, careful attention to detail, and very fine finishes. Even though the pieces are different, they all share a strong character built on excellent craftsmanship, from sanding the solid wood frames to stitching the leather upholstery.
The Lambda table sits at the center of this new collection. It’s a table with flowing, elegant lines that give it a sculptural feeling, balancing a light appearance with very original shapes.

Folded paper base
The entire Lambda project started with the design of its base. It is made of two main parts that look like folded sheets of paper. These straight-looking shapes bend upward and come together in the middle. The final look is reminiscent of the Greek letter it’s named after. While it appears delicate and graceful, it is actually built to be extraordinarily solid and strong on a structural level.

How it stays so solid
The table’s ability to look light while being extremely stable comes from its specific construction. The base is lacquered and layered, but it hides an internal steel ballast for weight. It also has a core made of medium-density wooden fiber, which is reinforced with double aluminum plates. This same engineering is used on the underside of the tabletop. It also contains an internal ballast, a wooden fiber core, and double aluminum plates. This construction ensures the table remains perfectly stable without looking bulky.

Choose your top: Earth, wood, and stone
The table’s full visual power is perhaps best seen in the single-material versions. In these models, the veining of marble, the natural grain of wood, or the soft texture of the new Terrae finish gives the table a remarkable expressive quality.
The Terrae finish is particularly interesting. It has a brushed effect that is achieved by people applying natural powders by hand. These powders can be made from marble, stone, or cocciopesto. For wood, the options are a classic Natural Oak (Rovere naturale) or a deep Black Oak (Rovere nero). The marble selection includes Calacatta, Nero Marquina, Verde Lepanto, and Rosso Lepanto, all offered in a glossy version. For a quieter look, Calacatta and Nero Marquina are also available in a matt finish.

The glass option and new swivel tray
The Lambda table is also available with a thick, lacquered glass top, which can be either glossy or matt. This version is paired with a matte lacquered base, and both can be colored in the many shades of the Rimadesio Ecolorsystem collection. This combination creates a sophisticated play of reflections and emphasizes the table’s light appearance.
A new update to the 2025 line adds a new function. A round version of the table, measuring 1800 mm, is now available with a central swivel tray. This tray is built directly into the top so it fits perfectly, and it uses a mechanism that guarantees smooth and silent movement. This version with the swivel top can be ordered in glossy or matt lacquered glass, the Terrae surfaces, or the wood finishes.

The Lambda table, which is a registered and patented model, is a clear example of Giuseppe Bavuso’s design philosophy for Rimadesio. It is an object of contrasts: it looks delicate but is built with heavy, solid materials. It is a piece of sculpture that is also a functional piece of furniture. More than just a standalone item, it is part of a larger strategic vision where every new piece, from its main shape down to its smallest detail, works together to create a complete and controlled environment.
