Today’s kitchens are spaces that value clean lines, great design, and everyday comfort. The sink area, once purely functional, is now a perfect example of where good looks meet daily use. The Villeroy & Boch group understands this shift, offering high-quality ceramic sinks and taps that are attractive, easy to use, and built to last. This year at the area30 trade fair, the company is marking a new chapter by presenting kitchen solutions from both Villeroy & Boch and Ideal Standard together for the first time, giving kitchen designers an even broader palette of options.
Making the most of awkward spaces
Corner sinks are clever solutions for using every inch of a kitchen without giving up on style or convenience. Villeroy & Boch introduces a modern take on this idea with the new corner model in its popular Subway Style collection, designed especially for smaller kitchens. The design features a large main basin, a smaller triangular side basin, and a smooth drainage area. It is defined by its slender edges, clear lines, and soft curves. A versatile tap hole bench with four pre-drilled positions allows for flexible placement of taps and accessories. The new sink is available in twelve colors and comes with an easy-to-clean CeramicPlus finish. Add-ons like a custom basket insert and a silicone sponge help turn the sink into an organized work zone.
Choosing your sink’s installation style
Personalization is a major direction in kitchen design. Villeroy & Boch offers a variety of ceramic sink installation types to give planners maximum freedom. Undermount sinks are fitted directly beneath the worktop for a clean, uninterrupted look. The Subway collection includes models for different cabinet sizes, like the new Subway 80 U, which features a generous double basin that makes the sink area a core part of the kitchen’s architecture.
Flush-fitting installation is another popular option, where the sink and worktop become one continuous surface. Sink collections such as Linara or Subway Style highlight this elegant appearance and create large work surfaces that are simple to wipe down. The classic built-in sink, which is inserted into the worktop from above, is known for its versatility. It can be paired with almost any worktop material and comes in different sizes for easy fitting into various kitchen layouts.
For a bold look, the butler sink provides more room for individual expression. Its deep, exposed front makes a real statement in the kitchen. It is available as a single or double-basin model in different sizes and colors, offering a wide array of design possibilities, from a rustic feel to a timeless or expressive modern look.
The finishing touch: Taps that do more
Taps are no longer just a utility; they are defining elements of a kitchen’s style. The wide selection from Villeroy & Boch and Ideal Standard shows just how many possibilities are now available for the sink area.
Villeroy & Boch presents the Konic stainless steel tap, a model that combines a distinctive design with sustainable features. Its cone-shaped body, high U-shaped spout, and a built-in eco-function to reduce water consumption make it both practical and visually appealing. It comes in either brushed stainless steel or an elegant Matt Black finish, allowing it to coordinate with many different sinks, from the minimal Siluet to the universal Subway.
Ideal Standard’s new Gusto iMX tap focuses on clever functions that improve hygiene and comfort in the kitchen. It features an integrated push-button soap dispenser, which gets rid of extra bottles on the counter and keeps soap or washing-up liquid always at hand. A sensor located on the spout allows for touch-free operation with the palm or back of the hand, a clean and simple solution that prevents the tap from being turned on by accident. A spout that swivels 360 degrees and an aerator ensure flexible use and an even water flow. The EASY-FIX assembly system also makes installation straightforward. With different surface finishes available, including Brushed Gold and Silver Storm, the Gusto iMX opens up even more design opportunities.
