This year, design enthusiasts will be able to see the Future Heritage installation for the interior at Focus/24 until Friday, October 11, 2024. The exhibition’s goal is to coincide with the time of year when London is preoccupied with art and design. Future Heritage, as a consequence, brings the work of 11 designers to the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour.
This year’s Future Heritage event celebrates its 10th anniversary. To complete the anniversary full circle, Danish artist Ane Christensen will return to showcase her signature sculptural wall pieces and vessel forms and, for the first time, explore furniture with her unique ‘Ghost’ shelf. Ane Christensen is a Danish London-based metal artist whose work engages with the themes of balance, light, and negative space.
At Future Heritage, designers, architects, design enthusiasts, and collectors will be the first to view the new pieces, including ceramics, furniture, and paper. Most of the pieces have been specifically designed for the event. All artists can collaborate with interior designers and architects on client projects, adding a particular uniqueness to their schemes.
Founded by design journalist and curator Corinne Julius, Future Heritage will bring together some of the UK’s most intriguing artists. Corinne Julius has a record of spotting the next big thing and is famous for fostering contemporary talent.
Makers are selected for reasons of head, heart and hands, in other words their intellectual rigour, the powerful narratives that underpin their practices and the ability to push materials and processes. Many previous participants have become major stars in their field. Future Heritage offers visitors the chance to both meet the makers and to experience their work first hand.

Borja Moranta, Esna Su, Hanna Fastrich, Elliott Denny, and Jonny Michie are among the participants. Alongside the work of the Future Heritage guest makers, contemporary craft makers will be featured in the pop-ups on Design Avenue. Some notable names of the event include Paul Smith, Kathryn Ireland, Zardi & Zardi, Birdie Fortescue, and Lorfords Contemporary.
As part of the event, there are regular tours that give an idea of what’s going on, as well as a program of talks and events under the theme of craftsmanship.
Future Heritage at Focus/24, London, offers a unique opportunity to explore innovative designs and craftsmanship, celebrating a decade of creative mastery. With a curated selection of work developed by established and emerging talents, the event is a go-to for all design lovers.
