Eureka Lighting Turns One Aluminium Tube Into a Flexible Lighting System

Jarry is a light fitting built from a straight aluminium tube that recently won the “Ceiling Lights” category at the SIT Awards 2026. The tube, made in lengths from 30 cm to 2.4 metres and with up to twelve small globes, can be hung as a pendant, fixed flat on a wall or mounted on a ceiling, either horizontally, vertically or on the diagonal. Eureka Lighting, the Montreal manufacturer that has been making decorative fittings since 1987, designed it in-house and launched it in September of 2025.

Inside the tube

The light comes from an LED strip wound around a cylindrical heatsink inside the aluminium, which allows the metal to hold the pieces together and draw heat away from the diodes at the same time. Each globe gives out either 376 or 515 lumens and draws 3.6 or 5.7 watts, with a colour rendering index of 90 on a scale that ends at 100. Eureka rates the light at 60,000 hours before the output falls away.

The static white version runs from 2700K, the warm yellow of an old filament bulb, up to 4000K, which is closer to daylight. A dim-to-warm version starts at 4000K and drops to 2200K as it is dimmed, copying the way an incandescent bulb turns orange as it fades, which is perfect for an evening room.

Silicone globes

Eureka chose silicone for the globes because it does not shatter, which the company puts forward as the reason for using Jarry in lobbies, kitchens and washrooms where a knock is likely. Silicone is lighter than glass, and it does not trap heat the way glass and rigid plastics do. It also leaves the colour of the light unchanged, though it is a softer material and picks up damage more easily. The globes glow evenly, since the strip inside runs the length of the heatsink and the silicone spreads what passes through it.

Ninety-six arrangements

Eureka has drawn up 45 ready-made pendant arrangements and another 51 for walls and ceilings, which differ in the number of globes, the length of the tube and the method of fixing. Vertical pendants come with or without a floor anchor, so the tube can be held at both ends.

The metal comes in sixteen finishes, champagne and silver among them, and in three faux wood finishes – the first Eureka has offered on any of its products. The fabric-braided cable comes in thirteen colours, from plain black to a strong blue. Furthermore, custom RAL colours can be ordered.
