cierre1972 continues its exploration of new and diverse forms of expression with the 2025 collection that takes inspiration from the 1970s. Showcasing bold shapes and exposed metal, the collection also embraces the clean lines of Scandinavian minimalism, demonstrating how these contrasting styles can perfectly coexist.
Exploring new collaborations and products at Salone del Mobile Milano
At Salone del Mobile.Milano 2025, cierre1972 invites visitors to explore its evolving design philosophy at Hall 9 – Stand G03 H02, where the brand will unveil exciting new collaborations and products, including the Donald armchair by Marco Fumagalli.
Expanding its roster of creative minds, cierre1972 enlisted designers who bring fresh perspectives while staying true to the brand’s identity. Alongside long-time collaborators Stefano Conficconi and Marco Fumagalli, this year’s lineup introduces Emilio Nanni, who reinterprets minimalism with refined precision, and Luca Erba, an architect and designer known for merging heritage, materiality, and organic forms with the rigor of industrial design. Meanwhile, Bernhardt & Vella look to art and architectural influences, crafting pieces that resonate with both history and contemporary sensibilities.
Donald armchair by Marco Fumagalli
A standout of the collection, the Donald armchair by Marco Fumagalli redefines the essence of seating with an emphasis on comfort, solidity, and aesthetic balance. Reflecting on his design approach, Fumagalli notes:
“Sometimes we’re surprised to find fundamental values such as aesthetics, solidity and comfort at the core of a product’s concept. Donald brings focus back to the obvious: an armchair is meant to be comfortable! This should be the design’s primary concern, and only then by adding an element of aesthetics, we’ve achieved our goal.”

The Donald armchair features one-piece solid walnut legs supporting a metal frame structure, upholstered with expanded polyurethane in varying densities and topped with an acrylic and silicon microfiber layer for exceptional softness.
With an eye on both innovation and craftsmanship, cierre1972’s 2025 collection is set to make an impact at Salone del Mobile.Milano, proving that design is most powerful when it embraces both past and future.
