Audi is adding a new layer to its Q5 lineup. The latest Q5 SUV and Sportback models are now available as plug-in hybrids, offering more power, more range, and a more considered approach to how we move.
Both versions have two power levels: 220 kW and 270 kW. They combine a 2.0 TFSI engine with an electric motor and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive. The result is smooth acceleration, with the top version reaching 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds and an electric range of up to 100 kilometers.
A major update is a redesigned battery. The new high-voltage unit has 45% more capacity than before, with 25.9 kWh total (20.7 kWh usable). Charging is quick, too, with 11 kW AC power allowing a full charge in 2.5 hours.
Drivers can switch between two modes: EV, which uses electric power only, and hybrid, where the system manages energy use based on the journey. A new digital slider also allows you to set the charge level manually. Regenerative braking has been improved, with three levels of energy recovery available via steering wheel paddles.
Design and tech updates match the performance upgrades. Standard features include S sport suspension, 3-zone climate control, advanced LED lighting, 19-inch alloy wheels, and the updated MMI infotainment system with app store and smartphone interface. The rear bench is fully adjustable, adding flexibility to the clean and functional interior.
Pricing starts at €63,400 for the 220 kW Q5 SUV e-hybrid, with the high-performance 270 kW Sportback version priced from €74,300. Built in Mexico, the new Q5 plug-in hybrid models will be available to order across Europe starting mid-June, with deliveries beginning later this year.
The Q5 e-hybrid isn’t radically changed, rather refined, with better efficiency, and smart upgrades that fit into daily life. Performance, practicality, and lower emissions — all in one package.
