A Sound-Absorbing Floating Bed for Quieter, Better Sleep

Header: Alex Winzeler

Winzeler Holzdesign’s philosophy treats the sleeping area as a place for retreat and relaxation, a purpose reflected in its designs. The centrepiece of every sleeping area is the bed, which should be comfortable and properly sized. Alongside the bed, the company designed a slatted frame to enhance sleeping comfort, and bedside tables to keep overnight essentials within easy reach. This approach has resulted in the creation of the Floating Bed.

Strong and durable solid oak bed

The product allows users to immerse themselves in high functionality and contemporary design while enjoying their rest with a solid oak bed designed by Alex Winzeler. Named The Floating Bed, the design combines practical functionality, fine materials, and innovative acoustic solutions to create a serene resting experience. The bed frame is made of high-quality solid oak wood. The naturally beautiful material is characterised by outstanding durability, ensuring it will last a lifetime. Bedside tables on both sides of the bed provide space for smartphones, books, and other items needed before going to bed or upon waking up. Separated from the ground, the wall-mounted bed provides the illusion of floating.

An acoustic bed frame that reduces noise

The bed also features integrated lighting. Both bedside tables are equipped with LED light strips positioned along the sides of the bed, providing comfortable ambient lighting ideal for relaxing evenings and soothing sleeping environments. The centrepiece of the bed, however, is its large acoustic bed frame. Carved from wood, the acoustic panels on the back of the bed impress both visually and functionally. The maze-like structure of the large panel instantly becomes a focal point in any room. Precisely crafted decorative cut-outs enhance sound absorption, creating a serene sleeping space. By reducing noise, the panels contribute to a calming and harmonious atmosphere.
