The AYG House is a perfect example of how people can coexist with nature and design like they are part of the family. Designed by mta+v with Miguel de la Torre as lead architect, this Mexican house is not only a product of its environment but also an element that positively adds to the setting in which it is set. Who wouldn’t want to live here?

As the design team immersed themselves in the site’s enchanting landscape, a nuanced architectural narrative began to unfold across four carefully articulated levels. The entrance, more than a mere threshold, emerged as a curated introduction to the residence’s immersive experience.

Moving deeper into the dwelling, the spaces revealed themselves with purpose and intention. Guest retreats seamlessly intertwined with the communal nucleus, where an open kitchen extended its arms gracefully into the living room, dining area, and terrace. The deliberate design emphasised expansive, interconnected spaces, inviting the natural surroundings to become an integral part of the dwelling’s essence.

Journeying further, the primary sanctuary unveiled itself as a serene haven, a space carefully attuned to the occupants’ most private moments. Beyond mere functionality, this area encompasses a thoughtful orchestration of architecture to create a personal refuge for anyone who needs a bit of time for themselves.

The narrative culminated in the creative enclave, a space where inspiration and imagination find a home. Within its walls, a music studio and library coexist, creating a haven for intellectual and artistic pursuits. This zone epitomised the marriage of functionality and aesthetics, where design not only houses activities but also becomes an integral part of the creative process.

A meticulous perimeter garden acts as a companion throughout this architectural journey, delicately integrating the residence into the surrounding natural tapestry. This careful curation of spaces and the coexistence between structure and environment are what make the AYG House the perfect family home.
