Milan Design Week returns from 8 to 13 April 2025, once again transforming the Italian city into a global meeting point for design professionals, brands, and creatives. At the heart of the week is Salone del Mobile. Milano, hosted at Fiera Milano Rho, where leading manufacturers and emerging designers showcase new products in furniture, lighting, and interiors. Now in its 63rd edition, the fair maintains its trend of highlighting material innovation, sustainable production, and experimentation across the many sectors of design.
This year’s Salone is home to a robust lineup of exhibitors across its industry-dedicated pavilions, which includes Euroluce, the biennial lighting exhibition, and a growing emphasis on outdoor and contract furnishings. Alongside the main fair, the citywide Fuorisalone programme presents hundreds of independent installations, gallery exhibitions, and site-specific projects—ranging from emerging collectives to established design houses—spanning districts such as Porta Venezia, Isola, and the expanding platform of Alcova.
With so much to explore, we thought it was only fitting to put together a comprehensive guide of the exhibitions that are 100% a must-see for visitors—in our humble, design-addicted opinion, of course. Join us as we walk through Salone del Mobile’s many pavilions, making our way to the streets of Milan, where we’ll explore Fuorisalone locations, independent projects, and brand collaborations.
1. Salone Del Mobile—Rho Fiera Highlights
Hall 04
Articolo Studios—Stand D03
Articolo Studios is an Australian design studio known for its work in decorative lighting and, more recently, furniture. The studio focuses on small-batch production, combining traditional materials such as glass, metal, and leather with trendy, contemporary forms.

Visitors will be able to admire new product launches across three categories: adjustable task lighting with integrated performance features, cast-glass pendant lighting with textured finishes, and hand-crafted lounge seating in leather.

PRECIOSA—Stand D02
PRECIOSA is a Czech company with a long-standing tradition in Bohemian glassmaking and crystal lighting. The brand is known for producing decorative and innovative lighting pieces, such as chandeliers, pendants, and large-scale installations for residential, hospitality, and public spaces. At Euroluce 2025, Preciosa returns with a new immersive lighting installation, and although the brand has announced a focus on elegance and emotional impact, no specific products or structural details have been publicly disclosed at this time.
Hall 05
FAS Pendezza—Stand A06
FAS Pendezza is an Italian manufacturer that specialises in gaming and recreational furniture, with a long-standing reputation for producing foosball tables, pool tables, and other related products. Basaglia + Rota Nodari are currently serving as the brand’s art directors, pushing the team to focus on integrating industrial design principles with high-performance materials with the objective of creating products suitable for both private and public spaces.
At Salone del Mobile 2025, FAS Pendezza will be debuting BOSS, a new regulation-size foosball table with a post-industrial aesthetic due to its use of exposed metal, wood, and minimal details. Designed for professional gameplay, the product is nothing if not durable, as the brand envisions it being used both indoors and outdoors.
The BOSS football table features a structural frame made entirely from painted metal, finished in a range of RAL colours including blue (RAL 5000), orange (RAL 2001), and green (RAL 6011), with the extra option to fully customise the colours available. The playing surface is made of a solid-core black laminate with silkscreen printing, and elements such as the player figures, handles, and score counters are crafted from Iroko wood. Furthermore, telescopic steel rods were used for safety in public settings, plus the table measures 148 × 75 × H90 cm and can be used in any type of setting: residential, corporate, hospitality, or exterior environments.
REPUBLIC OF II BY IV—Stands B03 and B05
REPUBLIC OF II BY IV is a Toronto-based industrial design studio that works across furniture, lighting, and product design. The studio mainly focuses on designing contemporary lifestyle objects with an emphasis on sustainable, high-quality materials and refined detailing, collaborating with several global manufacturers to achieve this whenever possible. The designers’ approach is process-driven, as they integrate advanced production techniques with traditional craftsmanship to develop collections suited for both residential and commercial settings.

At Salone del Mobile 2025, REPUBLIC OF II BY IV will be presenting three distinct collections in collaboration with two manufacturing partners: Sentta (Booth B03, B05 in Hall 5) and Ames (Booth D35 in Hall 24). Each collection is based on the studio’s design philosophy, which visitors will be able to admire firsthand through the upholstered furniture and handcrafted tables, produced in Portugal and Colombia, that are set to flood their stands.
The Samara Collection, designed for Sentta, includes a lounge chair, sofa, and sectional, with forms inspired by the shifting lines of desert sand dunes and upholstery shaped to emphasise the transitions between light and shadow in curved surfaces. The Sierra Collection, also developed with Sentta, includes more seating options: lounge chairs, armchairs, dining chairs, plus counter and bar stools. Each piece is made from solid ash wood paired with polished brass details, having been inspired by the transformation of wood across environments—from forest to coastline. Finally, the brand will also be presenting the Picos Collection in collaboration with Ames at Hall 24 (stand D35), which consists of a coffee table and a side table. The tabletop is handwoven from fique fibre, a natural material derived from agave and produced by artisans in the Tolima region of Colombia, and the base is formed from layered black clay, dried over several days by ceramicists in the Tolima region.

Rugsandrugs—Stand A23
Rugsandrugs is a contemporary rug brand known for merging craft and visual art when designing their unique pieces. Experimental design is a big part of the brand’s design process, complemented by a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach with various artistic disciplines, including painting, photography, ceramics, and performance.

At Salone del Mobile 2025, Rugsandrugs will present Terra Ukraїna, its debut collection showcased as part of the Ukraine Design Brands group in Pavilion 5. The exhibition will be centred on reinterpretating Ukrainian artistic heritage through a contemporary lens, with the results presented in a large format: wall-hung and floor-laid rugs prove how these decor items can be more than just utilitarian objects.
The Terra Ukraїna rugs were completely hand-crafted, holding designs that draw from traditional Ukrainian art forms and reinterpret them through abstract and modern compositions. The designs reflect influences from ceramics, dance, photography, and folklore, with each piece developed as a standalone graphic work.

Lara Bohinc x Uniqka—”The Betsy Collection“
At Alcova, designer Lara Bohinc collaborates with Istanbul-based leather studio Uniqka to present “The Betsy Collection”, which will be open to the public from April 7 to 13. The exhibition includes a group of sculptural leather furniture pieces inspired by the layered textures of bird feathers, all of which are constructed from wooden frames and covered with hand-cut panels of saddlery leather, having been later assembled in overlapping segments that mimic plumage. The leather is applied piece by piece in Uniqka’s Istanbul workshop, where artisans Kerem Aris and Merve Parnas lead the handcrafting process.
The collection includes a round coffee table, side table, console, bench, and standing mirror, with everything being offered in six colour options—dark brown, powder pink, rust, black, petrol blue, and spice yellow—and featuring customisable tabletop materials in wood, stone, or metal.
GOOD SELECTION at Varedo
Running near Alcova, GOOD SELECTION is a group exhibition presented in a former furniture factory at Via Santa Cecilia 12B in Varedo that will showcase the work of over sixty international designers and artists. The project, initiated and curated by Lucas Zito and Marika Caputo, positions itself as a non-profit, anti-commercial platform where creators retain full control over the sale and presentation of their work. The exhibition is, then, designed to foster community, transparency, and accessibility, providing a space for conversation without any intermediaries.
As part of the overall programming, GOOD SELECTION will also be hosting several satellite events. NO SELECTION, located at BIM on Viale Piero e Alberto Pirelli 10, runs from April 5 to 13 and is visible only from the outside. There, participants are given a space to present unfinished works, experimental pieces, or research-based objects, opening up the creative process to public view without commercial pressure. On April 11, the space will host an immersive design and food experience titled Dishes & Furniture, where designers collaborate with chefs to create a multi-sensory dinner. The closing event takes place on April 12 and reconfigures the exhibition objects as scenographic elements for a night event with music and live programming.

The platform has recently produced the “Marks of Existence” exhibition, which had previously been exhibited at PAD London in 2024 but is now making its debut in Milan.
The exhibition features work by 11 designers, all of whom decided to share a material palette for cohesion. Participating names include Federica Biasi, Artefatto, Federica Elmo, and TIPSTUDIO, but two new works have been introduced since London: a sculptural object by Moreno Vannini and a process-driven piece by the Milan-based duo CARA\DAVIDE.

DERANGEDSIGN at Isola Design Gallery
DERANGEDSIGN is a Hong Kong-based design studio that focuses on metalware for the home, particularly stainless steel tableware and decorative objects. Milan Design Week 2025 is DERANGEDSIGN’s first participation in the Isola Design Gallery, a curated group exhibition that takes place at Basic Village, Via dell’Aprica 12, from April 7 to 13. The theme of this year is “Design is Human”, and DERANGEDSIGN contributed with a dedicated project titled “Connecting in Between”.
The DERANGEDSIGN exhibition presents five stainless steel product series, each tied to a specific conceptual theme. The ARTSS pitcher focuses on the clarity of straight lines and geometric proportions; THE THINGS is a bowl set inspired by the concept of equality and uniformity across objects; CRYSTALLAR features condiment containers based on natural crystallisation patterns; COEXISTENCE is a tray set developed around philosophical ideas of duality and the coexistence of opposing states; and UTOSPACE combines a planter and candleholder to represent harmony within diversity.
3. Independent Brands, Pop-ups & Special Projects
Moleskine
Moleskine is an Italian brand known for its notebooks, journals, and writing tools that support creative and professional practices. Believing in the power of analogue expression, the company has evolved its portfolio to include digital writing systems and customisable stationery. With a focus on preserving the value of handwriting and paper-based thinking, Moleskine regularly collaborates with artists, designers, and institutions to explore the role of writing in contemporary culture. For Milan Design Week 2025, Moleskine presents “Unleash Your Genius“, an immersive installation at BASE Milano that highlights the cognitive and emotional impact of writing by hand.
“Unleash Your Genius”
“Unleash Your Genius” is centred on the enduring power of handwriting and analogue creativity as essential tools for cognitive engagement, personal reflection, and imaginative thinking. At the core of the exhibition is a large-scale origami sculpture of a human brain created by artist Tony Pignatelli, made entirely from Moleskine paper, that is surrounded by an interactive installation that invites visitors to engage with paper in multiple forms.
A large wall made of Moleskine notebooks functions as a living archive of visitor contributions, evolving daily with handwritten notes, illustrations, and personal reflections. Alongside this analogue experience, Moleskine showcases its Smart Writing System, where handwritten marks are digitally captured in real time and transferred to the Moleskine Notes app using Bluetooth technology and notebooks embedded with Ncode. Moleskine also introduces a pop-up featuring personalised products and a limited-edition creative kit exclusive to Milan Design Week, pairing a custom-designed notebook with a precision pen.
QuadroDesign
QuadroDesign is an Italian manufacturer of stainless steel faucets and fixtures for bathrooms and kitchens known for combining formal precision with environmentally conscious production methods. QuadroDesign works exclusively with stainless steel for its durability, recyclability, and visual clarity, collaborating with international designers to develop minimalist, long-lasting products.
PAFF PAFF at Porta Venezia
PAFF PAFF is an immersive installation presented during Milan Design Week 2025 as part of MoscaPartners‘ “Variations” program, set to open to the public from April 7 to 13. Located at Via Benvenuto Garofalo 31, within the Porta Venezia Design District, the project was developed by Finemateria in collaboration with Park Associati, cc-tapis, and QuadroDesign.
PAFF PAFF will be exploring the transitional qualities of space and the sensory experience of materials, focusing on wool as a central element. Curated within Park Hub, under the direction of Costanza Nizzi, the installation invites visitors to enter a restorative setting designed to contrast with the sensory overload of urban life, forming a temporary pause point within the city.
The installation is composed of two primary elements: a circular seating zone and modular sound panels, both fully clad in wool using tufting techniques developed in collaboration with cc-tapis. The wool used throughout the space, chosen for its warmth and ability to evoke a sense of protection and memory, creates a tactile and olfactory experience. Furthermore, the textile surfaces were produced using a robotic loom developed by cc-tapis, with QuadroDesign lending several CNC-machined stainless steel components to be integrated within the installation.
“HUM” by Philippe Malouin
QuadroDesign presents the complete HUM collection by British-Canadian designer Philippe Malouin at its flagship showroom located at Via Molino delle Armi 14. Open from April 8 to 12, the exhibition showcases the full range of bathroom and kitchen taps and accessories that emerged from the brand’s collaboration with Malouin, which began in 2024.
The collection explores the structural and tactile qualities of stainless steel, having been developed as “minimal functional sculptures” to reflect Malouin’s interest in direct expression and formal restraint. The HUM collection includes single-hole washbasin mixers in multiple heights, multi-hole deck-mounted configurations, wall-mounted faucets with integrated spouts, two- and three-hole basin mixers, shower systems, bathtub fillers, freestanding mixers, hand showers, and shower heads.
“The Instant of Change 5: The Sound of Matter” by Ceramiche Caesar and Rexa
Also located at Via Molino delle Armi 14, QuadroDesign joins Ceramiche Caesar and Rexa for “The Instant of Change 5: The Sound of Matter“, a collaborative installation curated by Marta Oliva. The exhibition features 24 unique timepieces designed by 24 international creatives, with each clock presenting a different vision of timekeeping.
Rockwell Group and Cork Collective
Casa Cork is a collaborative project led by Rockwell Group, an international architecture and design firm based in New York, in partnership with Cork Collective, a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable cork-based design, and Corticeira Amorim, the world’s largest cork processor. The initiative brings together design, sustainability, material innovation, and education in an immersive installation during Fuorisalone 2025.
Casa Cork is located at 31 Via Solferino, Milan, and is open to the public throughout Milan Design Week 2025. The project presents cork not only as a building material but also as a central element in furnishings, lighting, interiors, and educational design. The installation is laid across an immersive, multi-zoned layout, beginning with a sensory touch gallery that explores cork’s physical properties, followed by a workshop area that details its origin, harvesting, and processing methods. The journey concludes in a salon and event space designed for shared meals, wine tastings, and a curated talk series. The centrepiece of the installation is a large-scale replica of a cork tree, created from reclaimed virgin cork bark. Surrounding it are displays of cork-based furniture and prototypes, including student work and custom objects developed for the installation.
But there’s more than just the exhibition: Casa Cork will introduce its in-house design competition and talk series. The Cork Collective Student Design Competition, a platform for emerging talent from Parsons School of Design (New York) and Politecnico di Milano, will present cork-based design concepts developed by twelve finalists. In addition, the space will also host a talk series curated by design journalist Tiffany Jow, featuring public conversations with invited speakers from the fields of architecture, design, fashion, and food.
4. Galleries & Brands with Multiple Installations
Kreoo
Kreoo, part of Italian stone company Decormarmi, specialises in furniture, surfaces, and accessories made from marble and other natural stones. The brand is recognised for how it transforms raw stones into contemporary forms, producing collections that span indoor and outdoor furniture, bathroom elements, lighting, and sculptural pieces.
At Milan Design Week 2025, Kreoo will be presenting a new series of marble objects and furnishings designed by Christophe Pillet at Galleria Paola Lenti Milano, as part of a collaborative installation exploring texture, pattern, and volume in natural stone. The display includes amphorae, large-format tables, candlesticks, seating, coffee tables, and washbasins, many featuring textile-inspired details or three-dimensional carving. One focal point of the exhibition is Mirage, a new flooring system developed by Kreoo for Àlfa, an architectural installation housed inside the Paola Lenti showroom. Inspired by textile weaves, the flooring is composed of irregularly cut stones arranged in a mosaic-like pattern offered in shades of ivory, cream, beige, and darker accent colours.
Beyond its main presentation, Kreoo will also participate in several partner installations across Fuorisalone. At L’Appartamento by Artemest, located in Palazzo Donizzetti, Kreoo will present the Ellenico table by Enzo Berti in the Grand Salon. In the CHEZ-Life interior display curated by Alessia Garibaldi, the brand’s Sterling seat, Litia and Magika lamps, and Princess and Royal vases are set to be integrated into various room settings. At the Next Place Hotel, led by Giulio Cappellini with Roberto Cuneo and Luca Fois, Kreoo will display the Royal, Princess, and Wish vases. In addition, Studio Marco Piva will showcase his Tao table for Kreoo, while the Light Frame installation by Victor Vasilev for Antrax IT includes bathroom elements by Kreoo and several versions of the Royal vase in Rosso Lepanto marble.
From immersive installations and outdoor collections to student-led experimentation and sustainable material showcases, Milan Design Week 2025 hasn’t even started yet, and we’re already taking time to think about all the innovation presented during the week. Whether at the pavilions of Salone or the galleries of Fuorisalone, the event offers countless ways to explore the present—and future—of how we live, work, and create. There are only three things missing: comfy shoes, a complete map of the event, and arriving in Milan.
