PUMA has officially announced an exciting new collaboration with French independent designer Louis-Gabriel Nouchi, bringing a radical reimagining of the iconic Mostro sneaker. This partnership debuts the PUMA x LGN Mostro Mule, first unveiled during Nouchi’s SS25 runway presentation in Paris.
A reinvention of an icon
Originally launched in 1999, the PUMA Mostro became a street-style legend, drawing inspiration from vintage tracks and surfing footwear. Named after the Italian word for “monster,” the silhouette became renowned for its futuristic aesthetic and signature studded sole. Now, Nouchi has transformed the essence of the Mostro into a modern shoe.
His 2025 reinterpretation features a backless, slip-on mule design with a sleek, streamlined shape that maintains the shoe’s signature spiked sole. Constructed entirely from a single material, the rubberized sneaker is available in two timeless colorways: tonal black and white. By stripping the Mostro down to its core elements, Nouchi has created a shoe that is as much a design object as a functional footwear piece.

Speaking about the collaboration, Nouchi explained:
“I synthesized the essence of the iconic Mostro shoes into a radical mule design using a single material, transforming it into both a design object and a comfortable sneaker.”
His approach draws inspiration from PUMA’s namesake, the fierce and graceful big cat, blending strength, elegance, and adaptability into a bold and distinctive design.
Crafted from EVA foam, the mule’s one-piece construction highlights the anatomical contours of the Mostro while preserving its distinctive spiked detailing. This innovative redesign exemplifies Nouchi’s signature fusion of minimalism and boldness, positioning the Mostro Mule as a statement piece for fashion-forward individuals.
