OPPEIN has recently designed a sofa chair based on the theme “Healing and Pleasing Yourself”, drawing inspiration from an Italian grandmother’s image to make users recall the feeling of being cradled in one’s arms during childhood. Mamma Sofa’s U-shaped structure and down feather cushion offer a safe and comfortable sense of enclosure. At the same time, its design reflects traditional Italian craftsmanship, with each stitch representing a commitment to quality and care, much like a grandmother’s love.
The sofa’s wooden frame shapes the chair’s U-shaped design, which is influenced by the brand’s logo. It contrasts with the soft cushion, evoking the balance between the stern yet loving figure most people associate with an Italian grandmother. The design is simple and smooth, emphasising the brand’s identity while being versatile enough to fit with various home decor styles. The chair comes in solid colours, with optional blankets in bright colours allowing customers to customise the piece as they see fit.
The product’s functionality provides users with a comfortable “healing” experience, allowing them to sink into the chair, while a belt mechanism offers stable support. The seat height is approximately 500mm, and when in use, the cushion compresses to a height of around 430mm. The 650mm seat depth accommodates different seating positions, ensuring a comfortable sitting or reclining experience.
