Furnishings expert Stylex is excited to launch Oko, a curvy upholstered lounge chair that envelops the user in compact comfort. Designed by the award-winning Italian duo LucidiPevere, Oko lends a residential feel to corporate and hospitality environments. The sculptural, rigid back panel wraps the pillowy seat cushions in a welcomed embrace, while the base offers seamless movement and functionality.
Carefully crafted with a European touch, Paolo Lucidi and Luca Pevere of LucidiPevere envisioned a perfectly symmetrical chair, leveraging the geometry of a cylinder to provide security and comfort. Composed of four parts that harmoniously unite, hidden zippers allow the seat and back cushions to be removed or reupholstered for longevity. The base of the chair offers versatility with the option to add casters or a swivel for unrestricted movement. The cocoon-like form and sophisticated curves inform Oko’s name, a concise nod to its polished style.
“Conceptualizing an empathetic design that provides a sense of comfort in lobbies, waiting rooms, lounges, airports, and beyond, we gravitated towards balancing the dimensions of a cylinder and explored the intimate curve of a shell,” explains Paolo Lucidi. “It is our nature to consider every detail. For example, even the intentional wrinkles in the back rest indicate luxurious comfort.”
The key to Oko’s design lies within the rigid back panel, simultaneously serving as structure and aesthetic delight. Enveloping the cushions and base, the back panel rises just high enough to create a firmer support for the lower back. Available in five beautiful material combinations including maple, oak, walnut, leather, or upholstery, it offers customized dimension and contrast.
Crafted in the U.S. with special consideration for the environment, Oko is Level 1 certified and available in CET, making it easy to specify. As with all Stylex products, the Oko lounge chair is backed by a 10-year performance warranty.
